Overview:

Alternate Build with Guardians & As One!:

Multiplayer:

  • 11-THW with Smash the Problem
    • In solo play there is no reason to use this. Ant-Man thwarts quite well and there really is no need to thwart for 11 in solo.
  • 7-DEF with The Best Defense…
    • In solo play your native defense and chump-blocking are enough, but in mulitplayer if you'd like to fill in as a defender, feel free to add this card.

Strategy:

Early Game

  • You'll play very differently early game than you will late game. Early just try to get your set-up and don't even really worry about getting your Brute Force x3 down.

  • Ant-Man thwarts very well on his own, so you should have no problem there. Build your board and defend with low-cost allies to bide time to get your important set-up pieces like Ant-Man's Helmet, Giant Strength, & Army of Ants (Team-Building Exercise early is nice for these).

  • Don't really worry about trying to damage the villain too much to start, in fact I mostly stay in Tiny Hero Form and Alter Ego because you need the larger hand size. Use Wrist Gauntlets to make sure you don't have to worry about SCH when you flip.

Late Game

  • Once you have your kit down and your resource engine going, you can then start to put down your Brute Force x3.

  • The nice thing about Ant-Man is that he can always thwart and block so you never really need to use your basic attack which would cause your Brute Force to fall off.

  • Now that you've thinned your deck you will look to have 3 cards in your hand to complete your 11-ATK Quick Strike.

    1. You will flip to Giant Hero Form giving yourself +2 ATK with Giant Strength.
    2. You'll then flip to Tiny Hero Form using Resize or Swarm Tactics.
    3. Then flip to Giant Hero Form once more using Resize or Swarm Tactics to proc Giant Strength again so you'll now have +4 ATK total from both.

11-Attack Ant:

Hope you have as much fun with this deck as I do! My latest decks:

Nice combo! This is going to quickly become a new aggro archetype (I've seen Hulk and Hawkeye decks using this too). Good job!

This sounds as a very fun deck and I will probably give it a try! I just don't understand how you go up to 11 ATK.

3 ATK for base Ant Man 1 ATK for Combat Training 3 ATK for 3x Brute Force 2 ATK for 2x Giant Strength

The total is 9. I probably miss something but I can't find how you go to 11 :(

@Sippik You need to flip another 2 times using a second resize and swarm tactics so both Giant Strength can trigger twice giving you +4 :)

Fun deck Brian!

How often do you find you have the game handily won by the time your combo is set-up? When I play the ant-man 1 turn KO deck I often see I'm sort of farting around looking for my combo. Does this deck have the same issue or can you typically setup quickly enough to not struggle.

This is genius and why you're the best deck builder here, Brian-V!

@neothechosen Agreed. I tried it with Hulk first actually, and just couldn't make it work, I wanted to so badly. Then tried it with Hawkeye and it worked okay, but I think I just didn't have the right deck. Ultimately, I had the most fun doing it with Ant-man, but for sure I think you can do it with other heroes.

@KennedyHawk Yeah, I have run into this here and there. I never struggle though, but you just do so much damage that the game kinda ends once you get set up, at least in solo. So, basically I don't worry so much about getting the full 11-ATK, and if I get a little less that's fine. You're still only paying 2, or only 1 if you have Martial Prowess or a Power of Aggression. I did think about making changes to up the chances of getting your combo earlier/easier. Maybe Assess the Situation? "Bring It!" isn't really the best option for this deck. I did think about trying to do it with Plan of Attack since you flip to AE often. Any thoughts or suggestions? Appreciate the feedback.

@InigoMontoya Ha! Thanks. If there is such a thing as "best deck-builder", I surely I don't hold the title. I just enjoy brainstorming on deckbuilding and sharing ideas with other players. I've seen a lot of your decks you've been posting lately, great stuff!

like just, countless people: 'but Quick Strike is bad??' @Brian-V: 'hold my ant army'

@dr00 To be fair quick strike is bad in a lot of decks. But not this one or the amazing Hawkeye one on the front page. It’s golden there :)

@Brian-V Awesome deck, will try it today! Which two cards would you leave out for Smash the Problem and The Best Defense…?

I played this deck several times now... It always took extremely long to setup and when I was ready to hit him with quick strickes the game was almost over. In most games I was only able to hit the villain twice with quick strike for 18 damage, in ONE turn in the whole game. Dunno what Im doing wrong.... :(

Would Symbiote Suit be good here? 12 Attack Ant? I can't resist it.
