"Mission Leader Nightcrawler has secured the President" - Nick Fury
50/50 split on X-men and SHIELD allies here as we are not going for any sort of X-men synergies, so yep no Utopia! Unshackled by that limitation we can lean a little loosely into X2's White House infiltration scene with great SHIELD allies and dabble a little in X-men allies that help our cause. Most importantly it let's us...
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaytripper
One way ticket, yeah!
Utopia for Nightcrawler I feel like is a trap because why wouldn't we be playing Daytripper as often as possible? Here we have Make the Call and Rapid Response to help return her to play and when she does it equates to:
- a free Bamf! on an enemy
- 1 damage to each enemy with a Bamf!
- then another 2 THW/ATK or block if needed.
That's crazy good value for a Rapid Response. Most importantly it frees up the Bamf! in hand to be used towards 'Port Away or Scout Ahead. One cool sequence I had was I had Bamf! already on the villain and Teleport Drop in hand so I played Teleport Drop then used Make the Call to bring back in Daytripper to reapply the Bamf!.
The (other) Goods
Rest of the deck is rounded out with great allies from SHIELD and X-men. The X-men here aren't huge priorities as you'd probably rather Make the Call or Rapid Response Nick Fury, Maria Hill or even Mockingbird. However, Mirage can tie up an annoying minion for you, and Triage is excellent at keeping your HP in a good spot. Pixie can help you bounce back Triage if some healing is needed.
Multitalented is also here for some healing and answers for damage and thwarting, also a ripe target for the Prehensile Tail which Leadership doesn't provide a lot of options for us on that front. Clarity of Purpose I love for Kurt because even though he is 9 HP his DEF can get high and Triage and Multitalented and Kurt's Chapel are great at letting us recuperate.
Lastly Player Side Schemes and Mission Leader! I have 4 Player Side Schemes here because Nightcrawler runs them extremely well thanks to the efficiency of Scout Ahead (the allies we want to recur having a good THW help as well). Being that Nightcrawler likes being in hero form he makes a great Mission Leader in multiplayer, where the biggest issue with that card rears its head at times when the Mission Leader is in Alter Ego.
P.S.ideboard
I didn't really have a hard time with my HP so if you find yourself in a similar situation you might consider subbing out Multitalented for....now hear me out Haymaker if you need damage or To the Rescue! if you need threat removal. If that sounds gross just stick to Multitalented haha. I don't really have any more recommendations beyond that though.
Hope you enjoy piloting this deck, I found it had a lot of answers for most things the game would try to throw at a player at any player count. Because it runs the good allies from the core set I feel it is a very accessible deck as well since people know how to run those allies and Make the Call to good effect. Hopefully there's something here for everyone!

Sep 25, 2024What do you think about Go All Out instead of Multitalented? With the Cutlasses, Nightcrawler has a total of 8 across his stats, making Go All Out a solid attack card for him in Leadership. |

Sep 25, 2024This immediately was my lunch game, and it was awesome! Thanks for sharing the build. Multitalented was a great way to get some added healing, recurring Daytripper is so legit to managing Bamfs! |

Sep 27, 2024This is the first Nightcrawler deck I’ve seen that has really made me want to try him outside of protection. Excellent list. |
Sep 29, 2024Daytripper recursion is a blast! or...bamf? |
This looks so fun! I love that you can also recur Mockingbird for stuns, and the Mission Leader with 4 side schemes is a great call!
