C'mon...it's time for me to face the past...no matter what.

Turns out, Bucky likes punching minions in the face. But there's not always a minion around willing to get smashed by a cybernetic arm. So we have to do some... convincing. Face the Past and Squared Off are the poster cards for this deck.

Things like "Come Get Me, Bub!", Looking for Trouble, and Spoiling for a Fight can be really good, but for Bucky, they're not really advancing the game. Spoiling for a fight is kind of at best a net neutral except that you've milled the encounter deck and removed future minion fights from the deck. You could have just exhausted to thwart instead of readying and exhausting to kill the minion you just grabbed to thwart 2 for free. Looking for trouble can help if you're really underwater, but I often find I'm running out of things to thwart.

Enter Squared Off. Get a minion for you to kill. This let's you trigger your Winter Mask and do the whole 2 thwart thing. But you also get to play some powerful allies for cheap. Leadership really let's Bucky spread his wings and be a true all-rounder.

If the table needs damage, you've got Cyclops coming down. If you need to protect the table, you've got your free Nick Fury block. And sometimes you get to Rapid Response him back in to block (and draw 3 cards) AGAIN! Another fun trick in multiplayer is to play Mockingbird to stun the villain. So player 1, stunned. Block for player 2 with Mockingbird. Rapid Response Mockingbird. Stun the Villain for player 3. Block for player 4 with Mockingbird. And to start this whole thing off, you got to get a minion to play her for free, kill the minion, draw a card, and remove 2 threat and active with her too.

There's some side scheme's in here that do help him out, but they also give him more things to throw threat at if the main is clear. adding a 3rd or 4th side scheme in multiplayer isn't out of the question if the other players aren't playing many.

You've also got just some other good utility pieces in here like Snowguard. He can do whatever you need at the moment. Beast can help keep things going by getting you a double resource to use with whatever card you draw with Winter Mask as well as pulling an energy for Electrical Discharge. Hawkeye is both a good combo piece with Squared Off and a bit of a nonbo. Works awesome once he's on the table, but it feels a little wonky not getting his trigger when you play Squared Off in order to play him from your hand.

Hugin & Munin is another great new card in this archetype. Get a minion, ready up some stuff, and a blocker for 2!

Finally, we also have one of the best cards in the game, Face the Past. It fits Bucky thematically to a T and its also an amazing card for him. Draw 3 cards, ready up, go get a minion, kill the minion, draw a card, remove 2 threat, play more cards. Incredible. No notes. You do have a couple fun ways to work with your nemesis, Crossbones too. With a basic ATK + Winter Rifle + Sharpshooter you can just eliminate him. But you do have other options to dispatch of him too. A basic activation + Winter Rifle leaves him at 1HP. Perfect health for #NotAttackingTheVillainBecauseFaceThePastSaysICant. Just spool up your Metal Punch to do 8 damage with overkill, spilling 7 over to the villain... as a treat.
