I love this deck, but I tweaked it a little to swap Iron Man for Black Knight, and Wonder Man for Ant-Man. Full credit for the original deck goes to Mag of course, who created the number 1 most popular deck on this site.
I am very interested in hearing from all you guys to see if we can further improve it using the cards from all the sets that came out after July 2020, when the deck was originally posted. Surely some of the new cards would be a perfect fit. Let's crowdsource this mofo to perfection.
Pending Changes:
Heimdall is very expensive and with plenty of ways to bring Goliath back, you'll be able to abuse his power multiple times.
OUT: Inspired IN: The Sorcerer Supreme
I feel that Sorc Supreme is a better investment than upgrading 1 Ally, especially since you can often bring them back if need be.
OUT (After Scarlet Witch): 1x Make the Call, 1x Get Ready, 1x Rapid Response IN (After Scarlet Witch): 3x Spiritual Meditation (Mystic, cost 1: Draw 2 cards. Discard 1 card)
Considering: Earth's Mightiest Heroes for casting Invocations even more. Not sure what to get rid of though, plus the cloak already readies Strange.

Feb 05, 2021Those are great suggestions! Definitely agree with Heimdall and ditching Inspired for a better card. I’ll check out the Scarlett Witch cards, haven’t seen them yet! Do you know if I can edit this deck, or do I need to publish a brand new version with every change? That’d suck. |
Feb 05, 2021Spiritual Medition is amazing (cost 0, if Mystic: draw two cards, discard a card). Since it’ll allow you to cycle through the deck faster, I’d consider dropping 1 Get Ready, 1 Make the Call and 1 Rapid Response for it, bringing those down to 2. I’d miss the third Rapid Response most: alternative would be to ditch one of the weaker allies or Inspired/Sorc Supreme for the third slot. |
Feb 07, 2021I did some initial testing Compared to your deck, first I removed Ant-Man and Black Knight. They are good allies but are not really what I would call disposable allies. Strong disposable allies really synergize with Rapid Response and that you are using them primarily to block. Vision seems not really useful with only 4 target for his Action ability (2x Magic Blast / 2x Magical Enhancements) I also replaced Falcon with Ironheart. Still considering Goliath and Falcon since my ally count is a bit low. Goliath especially for closing the game. |
Feb 08, 2021Awesome, very nice. Let me know how it works out. I agree that some of the allies are less optimal, but the main idea of the deck of course is 'swarm' - lots of allies to toughen up and defend for you, so that as the Dr. you never have to shift back to your alter-ego. So while I would definitely agree with swapping out some less optimal Allies, I'd really like to swap in other allies in return. Damnit I wish I could edit this deck and continue the discussion, instead of having to make a new deck for every tweak. That really is a shortcoming of this website in my opinion. |
Jun 24, 2021With GMW I swapped Black Knight with Groot who is the best defender I know. Isn’t expensive and can block a few attacks before dying. Perfect for Strange! |

Great idea, Mag build is one of my favorite and was also wondering what change could be made to still improve it.
Goliath is really good with Get Ready. I would cut Heimdall for it. Heimdall is good but too pricy at 5.
Personally, I would also cut Inspired and add The Sorcerer Supreme.
An other possible consideration would be Earth's Mightiest Heroes which let you ready Strange and abuse his invocation deck.
We will also need to cut 3 other cards for the unreleased Scarlett Witch pack card "Spiritual Meditation". That card is so good :)
