Disclaimer: "First time making a deck to play with Phoenix. First time creating a deck in general, so any feedback is appriciated. Up until now, I have had no trouble with the higher card count"
The basic idea is to keep the X-men on the field and boost them. The major engine is:
- Cerebro: Get the ally you want/need or just take one to use as a cost for something else.
- Either you played the ally or used it as cost, if used as a cost you can still get them via Make the Call.
- Doesn't matter how the ally hits the board => If Danger Room is present grab a Danger Room Training (there are no other targets in the deck) and attach it.
- Rapid Response keeps them on the board even longer.
After playtesting in Solo below are the cards I think I would cut to get down to 40. But as mentioned above not even sure if it is needed. I would cut in the order mentioned below to get the card count lower.
-
1 X-Mansion: Usually I have Danger Room up so with that Danger Room Training already gets them up + 1 HP and with Rapid Respone/Make the Call you have a revive that triggers when you want it to. So the only 1 HP heal (in alter-ego) seems a bit not needed.
-
Triskelion or Utopia (Utopia has the added effect of readying you, but Triskelion is 1 cost cheaper. But if you happen to have The Power in All of Us it is bassically the same cost but better. Only in very little circumstances I needed 5 slots on the board. Mainly because that would mean you have all of your allies out at the same time (Professor X comes and goes as he pleases and I tend not to use Rapid Response on him). It is fun if you get it set up though.
-
1 Rapid Response/Make the Call: Leaning towards cutting Make the Call, because Rapid Response will make the "resurrect cost" 2 instead of the printed cost of the card you resurrect.

The one not chosen in 3, so would it become 2 [Rapid Response]#(https://marvelcdb.com/card/08031)/2 Make The Call in the deck
