War Machine / Leadership - Core Set Only

This is a deck designed to use only the cards from the core set and the War Machine hero pack in order to enable you to challenge even difficult content with minimal investment.

The basic gameplan is simple - we use Sneak Attack to throw in some extremely powerful allies for minimal resource costs, use their powers to attack or thwart, and then immediately throw them away using Save the Day or Go Down Swinging.

Even without any of War Machine's own damage, with an absolutely perfect hand of 5 cards, this can result in a magical christmasland turn where you Sneak Attack in Goliath, swing for 5 damage, ready him up with Get Ready, swing for another 5 damage, and then discard him with Go Down Swinging for a further 4 damage.

While this does mean you don't get the allies back as blockers, War Machine's basic defence isn't terrible, especially when you can gain Tough each time you enter hero form. With a little resource generation from the deck's supports or a hand of resource cards, you can also choose to start playing these high-cost, high-value allies the normal way, while spending your other resources on War Machine's impactful attacking events.
