The star of this deck is “Return the Favor”. I used to love using “Toe to Toe” against the villain(with Hulk) in Aggression but the boost cards never seemed to fall my way and it was just frustrating. To me revealing a Treachery card for the same cheap 5 damage has been totally worth it! Between this and a few “Hulk Smash!” it quickly whittles down the villain without much need for setup, which is a big win for Hulk due to his small hand size.

Strategy: Unless you have “Hulk Smash!” in hand, the objective here will be to just hammer the villain with this card(“Return the Favor”) every time it comes up. This gives the whole deck a “rush” type feel. It’s surprising how three copies of this card completely changed the tempo. With the right setup you may find yourself smashing for 13 damage and then another 5 in a single turn.

Allies: Iron Heart is an auto include for me since she is cheap to play, nets you a card and can take a hit if needs be. Lockjaw can hangout in the discard pile for whatever situational use you may have for him. Beyond that you’re on your own handling things but that’s why I chose Protection, since Hulk can tank quite a bit on his own.

Support: Quincarrier is an important piece for the wild resource it generates. The Night Nurse will help for those instances when you find that Hulk is stunned(confuse is a non-issue for Hulk as we all know).

Events: There is a good spread of cards to help Hulk ready, which his signature cards also already do. So much the better. You’ll need these to mop up minions on those turns that you don’t have “Hulk Smash!” with that overkill or for characters that have tough.

Hard Knocks is there to deal with minions and nets you a “tough” of your own which will keep you on your hero side a turn or two longer if played strategically. If possible try to use the tough for “Bait and Switch” so you can control threat for a turn to flip down to Banner. Getting off a few stuns with Never Back Down will also combo well with “Bait and Switch”. I contemplated just adding a 3rd copy of “Bait and Switch” and still debate it in my own head but I rarely need more than that in any game. Sub-Orbital Leap is actually very useful for handling threat, which is 4 cards total to manage it—so I just left things as is.

Upgrades: Down Time. Hulk has a high health pool which you’ll no doubt be stressing out to the max so it’s essential to recover a large amount quickly. “What Doesn’t Kill Me” will help with some of that but ultimately once you flip down you’ll want this or Banner’s Lab out(ideally both). I included “Nerves of Steel” to help you pay for things since it has a cheap cost of 2 and much easier to play then Avengers Mansion. You could swap them out though—it’s purely a matter of design philosophy since it all depends on how badly you want to have a larger hand size. No judgment on that front.

Alrighty, that’s the game plan folks and thanks for reviewing my Hulk deck!
