Altered State of Mind
This deck is meant to stay in Alter-Ego for most of the game. Flip up to Hero only when you need to move a counter around, you need a little extra thwart, or you want to play All-Points Bulletin or The Hard Call. Staying in Alter-Ego most of the game means you can exhaust most turns to find a Support (big or small) for the situation, and sometimes you'll do that just to have an extra resource. Meditation would be welcome, but I'd rather cut cards than add them so I have a better shot at finding an Under Surveillance and / or Counterintelligence early.
You can see this deck against Expert Klaw on May 30th.
Alter-Ego (Mostly)
- Breaking and Entering and Surveillance Team can remove threat in Alter Ego as an Action
- Counterintelligence can mitigate some threat going onto the main
- Under Surveillance raises the threshold.
- I like to save Spycraft for Advance or similar (anything that causes the villain to Scheme) or Masterplan which can mess your over whether you already have a Side Scheme in play or not.
In testing that wasn't enough and I needed some Confuses as well:
- Dazzler
- Professor X
- Since you will have to go up some times, Sonic Rifle is good for two confuses.
Quake can deal damage to minions who scheme.
- Command Team:
- Good with any ally of course...
- Professor X who Thwarting for 3 twice is NICE (play him when you need to flip up and you'll also get a block out of him).
- Agent 13 readies a S.H.I.E.L.D. Support. Think BIG but remember that all of your supports are S.H.I.E.L.D.!
- Nick Fury is also a great target!
The Iliad is super versatile, but I only use the top two choices.
The Bellerophon can deal massive damage over time, and is not an attack!
