Just having some poolside fun with this one! Ironheart is already a beast, and pool just helps to beef her up and do what she does best. Had fun with this deck and thought I'd share.

In typical Ironheart fashion; set and build yourself up, control the board easily in the meantime, then unleash big damage.

The idea of this deck is to use the pool event cards as resources initially to pump out upgrades, supports and Ironheart's cards, set her up and get counters to build up to level 3, then go ham and have fun with all the pool chaos! At that point, you're level 3 Ironheart - you've already got this, might as well have some fun with it!

By the time you're at level 3, a lot of your deck will probably already be on the table, so then your hand will generally be full of the fun pool and ironheart events.

Some notes:

  • give both pool allies sidearms - lady deadpool and pandapool don't take consequential damage, so that's 7 damage chipping away at minions or the villain every turn if you can get all 4 cards out early (even just one will help)
  • healing factor to keep your health up to make better use of the pool resources
  • stick to itiveness to help with readying while Ironheart is at lower levels and weaker helicarrier and ingenuity (helicarrier is self explanatory, ingenuity to help fund child prodigy)
  • superpower training to help get your photon blasters or propulsion jets fast
  • I tend to avoid Brawn unless I'm doing a sidekick deck, however there's definitely merit in playing him if you find him early to generate the mental resources for counters. If you see a side arm early, he could have it and attack for 4 for multiple times if you use your first aids on him instead
  • as you may have noticed, this deck doesn't focus on chump blocks as you want to keep your allies. I haven't found I've needed them anyway yet with all the healing and extra hit points in the deck.
  • use live dangerously once you're at end game and have control of the board to beef up your pool events, or earlier if you feel like a challenge and want the bigger hand size.
  • all of the above is well and good, but a general rule of thumb with ironheart when I play is that if you're able to get counters out, prioritise that until level 3 (in combo with controlling the board in the meantime).

Aim to keep health as high as possible in order to use the 3x pool resources to their max: Healing factor and first aids will help to keep Ironheart's health up, but also, don't be a stranger to flipping down and healing with down time in play, seeing as Ironheart wants to flip down anyway to use Ronnie and child prodigy. There's plenty of threat removal in this deck, so flipping down doesn't need to be avoided!

Shadow of the past may not be the worst thing - Ironheart's nemesis set actually works well with the pool aspect too seeing as the side scheme gives you some control as to which icon you have in play, depending on whether you decide to keep Lucia around or get rid of her. You can then use I got this for either card draw or threat removal. I only have one copy of I got this in the deck, but it might be worth having two.
