Kitty Pryde is called in by S.H.I.E.L.D. to investigate a virus that has infected the Helicarrier's computer. As Shadowcat she's packing a Sonic Rifle to confuse the villain on top of her Dazed and Confused card. This enables her to bring Scare Tactics and Swift Retribution to deal more consistent damage to the villain. Supported by a team of experienced agents, Agent Coulson sets up either a Sting Operation to easily eliminate non-elite minions or focus on the main threat with Counterintelligence; Monica Chang brings the three Surveillance Teams to sweep the area for threat; Spider-Woman simply swings in, sometimes for free if the villain and multiple minions are confused, to clean-up and protect Shadowcat; and Quake...quakes. Finally, this squad can lockdown lethal minions in The Raft.
This deck is purely for theme as I've been looking at Marvel comics properties to bring in to Marvel Champions. I've played it once, true solo against Rhino on standard, for a single win. I've had trouble piloting Shadowcat outside of Aggression due to timing her mass form upgrade so as to both prevent damage and have the attack resource generator available at the right times. This led to scouring aspects for low-cost attack events, like Scare Tactics and Swift Retribution in Justice.
If I were going to exceed the 40 card threshold, I'd add three copies of Homeland Intervention to extend the life of the allies and Surveillance Teams, though I didn't really have an issue keeping threat under control in my first play. Another solid addition would be X-Gene to generate resources for her identity-specific events. I wouldn't include the X-Jet just because I think it breaks the theme. This isn't an X-Men deck, it's Kitty Pryde: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Looks like a good time! I’m going to try this one. Congrats on getting back into posting decks!
