Kitty Pryde is known to be the most perfect of the perfect defenders. However, in 3-4 player games, I often find it's not realistic to defend for everyone all the time. However, what if you could help heal those you couldn't defend for?
This deck focuses on defending for as many players as you can, and getting access to healing (via Dr. Sinclair, Night Nurse, and Med Team) for those you can't assist during a round.
One of the issues Kitty has in defending multiple times is her forced response, that requires her to become solid after defending or attacking. This deck has a few ways to mitigate that.
- Counter-punch after a defense in phased form will allow you to phase again.
- Perseverance can protect you while stuck in solid form, although be on the look out for piercing attacks.
- Powerful punch will flip you from solid, to phased, to solid again to allow you to briefly defend while in phased form.
- Her quick shift can be used in a pinch, but I really like to use this for card draw.
Another issue is her need to exhaust herself to defend. To handle this, we have events that don't require exhausting and still make you a defender (I Can Do This All Day, Cuts Both Ways, and Preemptive Strike). All of these can be used to defend other players as well as yourself.
Note: This is meant to be a multiplayer deck, as it doesn't bring high thwarting or damage to the table (although her hero kit cards are excellent for both).
