This is a companion deck to Gold Team by oxthearsenal
X-Men Blue Team, launched in X-Men #1 (1991), was a primary strike force led by Cyclops, featuring Wolverine, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, and Jubilee. As one half of the X-Men's split roster—complementing the Gold Team—they focused on high-action missions. The Blue Team was known for being a more aggressive, action-oriented team, balancing out the more tactical or philosophical stories that often took place in the Gold Team's Uncanny X-Men titles.

The deck is a fairly standard Cyclops Leadership build, making use of his deckbuilding ability to include X-Men allies from any aspect. Only those from the original comic Blue Team are included for theme. One complication is the hero-specific Phoenix ally, who in the comics is part of Gold Team. Using a house rule, one could replace her with one of these team-up cards, or simply choose not to put her into play. She does feature a wild resource, which makes her a solid resource card. Additionally, the Cameo card can shuffle the hero-specific Jubilee ally from Wolverine into this deck. The Wolverine-Jubilee and Rogue-Gambit pairings also have team-up cards (Unlikely Duo, Beauty and the Thief) included just for kicks.

Since the deck is sticking with the comic Blue Team, some of the usual ally recursion and ally swarm builds are off the table. Therefore, Cyclops wants to keep his allies in play. Med Lab, First Aid, and Rapid Response are included for this purpose. Beast is a good target to drop in the Med Lab so that he can grab a resource card when coming back into play. First Aid is helpful since Rogue will be damaging friendly characters in order to boost her abilities. Rapid Response is a tactic upgrade that Scott Summers can grab with his alter-ego ability. Coordinated Attack is included to complement the hero-specific tactic upgrades on minions to enable the Optic Blast. This also reduces consequential damage on allies, keeping them in the fight.

Lastly, the standard loadout of X-Men supports: X-Gene, X-Jet, X-Mansion, Utopia (along with Triskelion for yet another ally slot). Build Support is included to help get one of these into play. With both Team Training and Uncanny X-Men, each ally gets a buff of +2 hit points. Danger Room Training is intended for Gambit, Rogue, and Jubilee to be buffed. Beast and Psylocke want to rotate out to refresh their abilities.

To me, Blue Team!
