I've been watching X-Men '97 Season 2 and "prophet of lies" is an epithet that En Sabah Nur (a.k.a. Apocalypse) uses for Magneto. Erik Lehnsherr, despite sometimes good intentions, has a tendency to use others to meet his own ends. His Marvel Champions pre-con deck even speaks to this with Noble Sacrifice and "You Got This!" in the Leadership aspect. Add Go Down Swinging, and Save the Day to complete the set.
"To Me, My X-Men!", Make the Call, Sneak Attack, Call for Backup, and Pixie will help bring allies to hand or into play. Beast, Cyclops, Phoenix, and Professor X are all featured in the animated series. Hope Summers summons to hand from the deck Magnetic Bubble or one of Magneto's hero-specific events, which all have the superpower trait.
Use Command Team to get an additional use from an ally before it's discarded to benefit our . . . hero?
