The new protection cards are the hot items right now and who better to take advantage than the one and only Magik?!?!

One of my favorite ways to play her is in Protection and defending. She has built in retalitae with her Armor, 3 readies from Stepping Disc and can play defense events from her top deck. This deck will take advantage off all of those things incorporating the new flashy cards.

Queen of Defense?:

At the heart this is a Change of Fortune deck and with Magik's ability to play cards like Powerful Punch from top deck she can afford this much easier than a lot of heroes.

We also have retaliate damage which can go up to 3 with [Ronin](/card/60053, Mystical Armor and Electrostatic Armor in play.

Under Control is another option to take out minions.

This deck is extremely cheap which makes playing cards in the villain phase much easier to afford.

Playing powerful punch from the top for 1 card from your hand and drawing 2 from CoF leaves you with plenty of options during your hero phase.

Or let the retaliate damage finish off a minion and play Get Their Attention from top deck to remove 3 threat from any scheme while still drawing from CoF.

"Come Get Me, Bub!" gives us a free tough and heals 3 for putting a minion into play setting up our CoF triggers.

Stand Alone allows us to defend against the villain attack dealing some retaliate damage then stand up for the minion attack to defeat them and trigger CoF.

Use Limbo to keep your defense cards on the top deck for the villain phase and to also have an icon to boost your defense on Mystical Armor.

What's The Harm:

In Harm's Way can be expensive and while this deck doesn't get up to crazy defense stats, (6 is the highest with the boost from her Armor) the ability to play it from the top deck at a discount is absolutely fantastic.

Magik can struggle with threat removal if you don't recur Exorcism but this deck really handles threat well with the new cards.

Get their attention chips away during the villain phase and in harms way adds some solid removal during the hero phase.

On top of Stepping Disc we have 3 more readies in Army of One allowing us to ready multiple times in a turn especially in the mid to late game when most of the upgrades are in play.

I've had an absolute blast playing this deck and it has held up really well. I'd love to hear any feedback or experiences with it!

I love Magik and you've made quite a nice home for her with these newer Protection cards. Well done!
