The Master of Manipulation

Entrapment is like a much more niche Ready for a Fight. It can give you Alter Ego access during most villain phases which is usually not what you want due to the threat of the villain scheming. However with Psychic Manipulation that weakness becomes a major strength!

As one of the few characeters that can run Psychic Manipulation, Phoenix also happens to synergize well with the preparation archetype. Spycraft will protect Phoenix from Burning Hunger and Shadows of the Past! Once it and a practiced plan is in play you can safely unleash. Coulson can find either Spycraft, Entrapment or practiced plan for you. Since you will be starting in Hero form and ending your turn in alter ego, you will get 6 hand size more often and a 7th upon flipping during the villain phase if Moira is in play. You can activate moira nearly every turn if you play your preparations right.

Storm synergizes with Show of Empathy since threat placed on that side scheme doesn't affect it. You can move 4 threat off other schemes or 6 if Storm has Mission Training.

Tactically control the board, turning villain activations against themself, flipping minions to your cause. Use that time to setting up your home defenses, then unleash the Phoenix Force!
