Grave Digger

When I was a boy I thought the two coolest things in the world were Spider-Man, and monster trucks. And by far the coolest monster truck in the world was Grave Digger. What could be cooler than a 6 ton vehicle flying through the air and crushing stacks of cars as it lands?

While I can’t say that this deck will be as adrenaline pumping as the actual Grave Digger, I can say that it embodies the same spirit.

First of all, monster trucks need to be tough. They have to be able to absorb all the hits from their high flying antics, and the best way to do that is to build up your defense.

-Armored Vest
-Ronin
-Defensive Conditioning
-Defense Specialist (via Specialized Training)

After you’re fully setup Spider-Man will have 8 defense.

This will allow us to do 2 things. Comfortably Taunt the competition to rev our engines for setup, and then unleash all our horsepower for offense.

Taunt draws us an automatic 3 cards, and we will almost always be blocking all the damage from a villain attack, which triggers Unflappable and Defense Specialist to draw us 2 more card. But that’s not all, because Spider-Sense allows us to draw another card whenever the villain initiates an attack against us.

Spider-Sense is not limited to once per phase, or once per round either. So we can Taunt over and over again to draw even more cards, if it finds favor with the crowd.

So, to recap: 8 defense, and up to 6 extra cards after one Taunt. That’s a lot of cash to spend. But what ever will we spend it on?

Monster Trucking is dangerous, so we’ll have to get comfortable with being In Harms Way. And all of that extra horsepower will allow us to swing through the air with ease.

And even if we should encounter some unexpected opposition, Stand Alone will help us rise to the occasion.

Finally, when we need a break after a hard day of monster trucking, we can spend time with the ones we love to recover our health, and do a little R&D before we get back out there.
