The designers really made a great starter deck with Quicksilver. It basically prioritizes his defensive capabilities with green cards while letting his Hero cards deal with thwart and damage. My goal was to fine-tune that idea and "Voltron" Quicksilver up with a bunch of upgrades!

Quicksilver really is an auto-defense hero because he can just ready after defending for the first time. Most of the things I put in here is in service of that. The new "discard to get +1 stat" upgrades are great thematically for Quicksilver but I wanted those juicy permanent upgrades instead.

He is interesting because during the Villain Phase he can defend once and ready immediately, but if he defends a second time (or if an encounter card makes him exhaust in the Villain Phase) he will be exhausted for the entire next Player Phase, and his ability to ready once per phase becomes wasted. Quicksilver has ABR in order to ready again... but you really want to save those for extra thwarts or attacks. That's Where Tenacity comes in... Tenacity is like a banked ABR that lets you ready after you've had to exhaust multiple times in the Villain Phase. Also, Tenacity requires a Fight resource which Friction Resistance or Quincarrier can give (that being said, you can consider taking 1-of tenacity in favor of 2 Armored Vests).

One of the new cards from his pack that I kept, however, is Never Back Down. This is going to be such a staple in defense decks. For Quicksilver, if he's set up with Armored Vest and/or Accelerated Reflex then he already has a base of 2 or 3 defense, then Never Back Down adds 2 to that. I added Preemptive Action and Expert Defense to help trigger the "if you take no damage" clause on Never Back Down and Unflappable.

To round out the Stun package I thought of throwing in Tackle, but it's pretty expensive for this deck, and it does nothing to synergize with the defensive style that I'm trying to enhance with the deck (other than stunning I guess). Instead, I went with the Allies Iron Fist and Mockingbird.

Speaking of Allies, Brother Voodoo would be a great include in order to find your Always Be Runnings (ABR) or your Maximum Velocity, but I just felt like finding those cards was pretty easy anyway especially in the late game since Serval Industries helps you shuffle those cards back into the deck.

With all of the basic cards in the deck (Mansion, Quincarrier, Tenacity, Mockingbird, etc.) The Power in All of Us seemed perfect. I threw in Miles Morales and Ironheart as well!

So that's pretty much the deck. I'm having a great time defending with Quicksilver, then having a huge Maximum Velocity/ABR turn to finish off Villains! Let me know what you think.

Enjoy!
