Intro
Mais cher, check out dis super fun retaliatin' Gambit deck! After playin' Gambit when he first showed up and feelin' a little disappointed in his playstyle, I decided to give him another go after watchin' Deadpool 3.
With dis here deck, ya can get retaliate 3, sometimes even retaliate 4. It's all thanks to Electrostatic Armor, Dauntless, Gambit's Staff, and Flow Like Water.
Strategy, bébé:
First t'ing ya wanna do is make sure ya got one of dem cards I mentioned in your openin' hand (mulligan if ya gotta). Armored Vest should be your second priority. Then, Gambit's Guild Armor and Unflappable gon' help ya draw a card and protect against multiple attacks (or be ready to attack when it's your turn). Your main focus is buildin' up these upgrades to get yourself ready.
Cards like Endurance and Med Team are there to keep the Ragin' Cajun at full HP, so you get all the benefits of Dauntless.
Once ya got your upgrades in play, try to defend every chance ya get (wit' a defend event if ya can to activate Flow Like Water) so ya won't only retaliate but also draw cards and get ready.
Gambit-specific events should be used for thwartin' and attackin' when ya all upgraded, and Rogue can step in to defend wit' aerial intervention. Once ya got all the priority upgrades in play, keep 3 charge counters on Gambit at all times, for natural agility and a cheap Rogue play.
Enjoy bein' the slickest Creole around, cher!

Aug 07, 2024Great write up, will give this a spin. Have you considered adding Angel or Starhawk, more cheap allies that you can exhaust for Aerial Intervention and decent in general? |
Aug 08, 2024One simply can't read this without the accent. He's name is Gambit. Remember it. |
