Magik can open portals and that's exactly how this deck will feel. With Summoning Spell, Mutant Mayhem and Rapid Response you're going to be portaling your allies all over the place.
As with most Magik decks the main priority is to get Limbo online.
The Sorcerer Supreme is really nice since we have some high cost events and allies in here.
Utopia is another key card as everytime MM hits you can ready Magik from that X-Men ally coming back out.
Forge is great early to grab Utopia.
Build Support can grab you Limbo early or later game you can use it for command team, x-jet, or team training.
The main targets for MM are Beast for his ability to grab a resource card, Colossus for his ability to bring a tough and Marrow for the damage when she enters play. X-23, Legion and Domino are allies that are still useful to target with MM just to bring them back and utilize again. Pixie is here to act as another portal, bring someone like Beast from discard to the hand. Use Limbo to put him on top of the deck and then play Summoning Spell to put him right out.
Domino provides a lot of flexibility in this deck. With Limbo out you'll have the ability to swap the top card of your deck twice during your turn. With this setup you can swap the card you want to play with Limbo to get the discount off the top then later in the turn you can utilize Domino's ability to swap another card to the top. This can allow you to get the kickers for Legion, Soul Strike or Exorcism. Or just to save a card you need for next turn. Really nice to be able to play the turn and then guarantee the kicker for Exorcism to get a free flip.
The idea is to maintain an X-Men ally and an X-Force ally all game and just use Rapid Response and MM to keep them coming back out. Beast is great early for the extra resources to set up and Colossus provides a tough everytime he comes back out. There are ton of different ways to play it.
Legion with leadership skill and the kicker provides 4 damage every Attack.
Marrow can be a 2 damage when enter play and then swing for 3 with leadership skill.
Command Team allows you to burn your allies health to accelerate using Rapid Response or MM.
Team Training is useful to keep allies around a little longer but not essential.
Leadership Skill provides some extra thwart/damage for our allies.
The X-Jet just provides us an extra resource.
So far this deck has been a ton of fun and provides some really unique plays as well as feeling thematic to Magik. I'd love to hear any feedback or experiences with the deck!

Sep 01, 2024Appreciate you checking it out! Definitely agree with that, Beast has been in every Mutant Mayhem deck I've played. Domino was a first but being able to manipulate your hand and top-deck that often was really satisfying. Deathlok is another really good one for Mutant Mayhem since clarity of Purpose can be attached. He just didn't really fit in what I was going with here. |
Sep 01, 2024I recently put up a Spider-Woman deck, "Serve, Protect, Mayhem" that let's you play around with Mutant Mayhem and Serve and Protect at the same time if you want to check it out. No Marrow sadly, Spider-Woman isn't X-Men or X-Force. |
Sep 01, 2024I haven't used Mutant Mayhem with her I'll have to give that a shot. I did one with Venom that was really fun as well |

Man, Marrow and Beast are so solid in any Mutant Mayhem deck! Domino is a great choice here as well.
