This is a deck I built for my Heroic gameplay video against the Sinister Six, but I believe it can be reasonably strong against other scenarios too (though best suited to minion-heavy or multiplayer scenarios).

This deck utilizes the new card from Nightcrawler's pack Change of Fortune, which draws a whopping two cards for defeating an enemy during the villain phase. This means it is best suited for scenarios with lots of minions (which improves greatly in multiplayer) or the occasional multi-villain scenario such as Sinister Six.
Ghost-Spider, known for playing much of her games in the villain phase and sometimes skipping the player phase entirely, is a great candidate to employ a Change of Fortune strategy. Ghost Kick is the best identity-specific card to combo with it, being able to kill most minions or finish off a villain stage with a big chunk of damage after Ghost-Spider defends.
Naturally, I'm playing Counter-Punch and Powerful Punch as well to have extra attacks for the encounter phase. Defiance and Preemptive Strike round out Responses and Interrupts, giving Ghost-Spider plenty of options to ready using her hero ability. I didn't want to spread too thin into a perfect defense strategy due to building around Ghost-Spider's hero ability and Change of Fortune, but I am playing one Unflappable.
Hope this is a fun deck to try out Nightcrawler's exciting new card in the hands of the perfect hero for it!

Sep 26, 2025I watched your Youtube video with Web-Warrior Fanatic about Symbiote Suite. I appreciated your perspective, particularly as a player (maybe a Spike?) who plays Heroic. I'm curious to hear your thoughts about your decision to not lean into a Perfect Defense strategy in this Change of Fortune deck. Is it because Villains in Heroic can hit really hard, so it's best to chump block with allies instead? Since all your Protection events with an Interrupt/Response are to be played during the Villain's turn, I assume that you're basic defending most/all rounds? If so, then why not profit from doing so? Thanks for sharing your list. I look forward to trying in in the coming weeks. :) |
Sep 30, 2025Thanks for watching! I'm at least 95% Spike when doing my Heroic challenge. As for Perfect Defense with Ghost-Spider, it's honestly just a matter of slots. I don't want to cut down on my events to make sure I can trigger the Web-Bracelets as often as possible. I want a good density of allies since they're strong overall. I do have 1 Unflappable in there, but I'm not sure Hard to Ignore is worth cutting something else. |
Post-Silk Update
+1 Madame Web
+1 Ready for a Fight
-1 Professor X
-1 Spider-Man Noir
To your taste, Otto and Silk could be swapped out for Sp//dr or Scarlet Spider
Cutting Professor X probably makes the deck worse, but he is not cohesive with the rest of the strategy, so this cut maintains the most fun outside of try-hard mode. (Same goes for not including other staples like Mockingbird or Nick Fury). Noir was also a nice silver bullet against Sinister Six but is relatively weak overall.
