There's a saying down in Caldecott County, that the first handshake's free, but the second one is gonna cost you. Rogue makes every handshake count, thanks to some help from some her X-Force pals.

Allies:

Aside from Gambit, all our allies are X-Force, and help us get our alliance cards online. The priority is Pete Wisdom since he has such a high thwart and benefits from not taking consequential, but any of the other allies are decent targets in a pinch.

Events and a side scheme:

This is all about playing Gunboat Diplomacy as much as possible, and we have several ways of getting this done. We can play it from hand, or use Superpower Adaptation to get it from discard, or Generation X to get Superpower Adaptation. This way you always have Gunboat Diplomacy when you need it. One Way or Another helps us see cards to see Gunboat Diplomacy as well.

Upgrades:

We have the usual X-Gene and Deft Focus for resource generators, Heroic Intuition to boost our THW for Gunboating, and Skilled Investigator to draw cards. We also have Chance Encounter to get us any of our allies that might've gone to discard.

I've found this deck to work decently in solo and really enjoyed the flexibility Gunboat Diplomacy provides. This probably has a higher ceiling if it's an X-Force hero running X-Men allies because of Mission Training, but Rogue can play the card much more often and more consistently.

So, hold out your hand, sugah. Rogue's got some diplomacy to do.

Ooo I want to run this alongside an Xforce hero with X-men Allies and cause some Mutant Mayhem.

One way or another is so good with gunboat! So often you don't have a place to put all that thwarting power

Why non captain britain?

Captain Britain is neither X-Men nor X-Force. He’s Aerial/Excalibur.

Have you tinkered with this at all since Children of the Atom came out? Do you think you'd shift it quite a bit or just minimally?

@N1GHTCRAW73R I think def Children of the Atom would make this much better! I could see dropping the Skilled Investigators for 2x of those. It would help her always keeping Touched on the villain while still doing that Gunboat business.

I've been starting with your deck as a base for Solo Champions League this round. But the min you make that changes it leads to others, like the inclusion of Mission Training, Game Time, and Utopia... As well as considering other allies. I.e. Gambit, Bishop, prof X, Marrow, Triage, Beak... It quickly starts to completely transform the deck. Lol.

Yeah and I think those are all valid choices! I kept going in similar circles with this deck as well and had to just call the ball haha

Love this!

how does Superpower Adaption search your own discard for Gunboat?

Jan 04, 2025 Caldias · 3827

If you touch an ally you control with Touched you can search your own discard

gotcha! would you change this deck at all with the introduction of Children of the Atom?

Jan 05, 2025 Caldias · 3827

Oh for sure, it might not even be the best move to do with Rogue now that children of the atom has opened everything up. But I would definitely find a way to work in two copies of that probably just to get gunboat online easier
