My take on Cyclops.

Cyclops is my favorite xmen, therefore its only fitting to build a cyclops deck that suits my taste.

Meditation is the usual go to for cyclops build. Either that or a deck filled with bunch of xmen allies (due to scott abilities). I personally like to stay in hero form longer because i feel like going to alter ego put myself in danger to Advance, especially in a low threshold scheme villain matchup.

The other consideration for the deck is to build a cyclops deck that can handle any scenario without teching. I believe cyclops is good for this role as the xmen ally slot is flexible and is capable to deal with most scenarios.

The centerpiece of this deck has to be Uncanny X-Men as it enables the engine of casting allies after allies each turn cheaply and ensure it stays longer on the field for chump blocking / doing actions. I bring 2 to ensure i can mulligan or open with it more often. I also have 1 Build Support as another way to tutor since 3 uncanny seems like an overkill considering you can only play 1. Also if playing multiplayer the extra Uncanny X-Men can be played into other xman identity. The extra Uncanny X-Men are also helpful against nasty treachery such as Overwhelming Force

I also use 1 "To Me, My X-Men!" since I like to stay in hero form a lot more and not relying on Meditation. 3 "To Me, My X-Men!" feels clunky, therefore after several testing i believe that 1 is the perfect number.

Lets talk about allies.

  1. Nightcrawler, Armor and Polaris is important in this build because they provide the very important tough status as I like to stay in hero form more often.

  2. Beast, Dazzler, Professor X, Forge are good enter play cards that can be casted with discount from Uncanny Resilience and provides value. They're also special because they also triggers if you pull them from "To Me, My X-Men!" which increase the value significantly, especially with Utopia out.

  3. Pixie , Beak and Sunfire might not trigger from "To Me, My X-Men!" but they are still good value ally and cheap enough to be casted if you have Uncanny X-Men out.

  4. Blindfold not only triggers from "To Me, My X-Men!" but also good for planning ahead, especially if you need to go to alter ego.

Lets talk about the engines

  1. A single Enhanced Reflexes might seem odd, but since testing I feel like cyclops early economy can be rough and another additional resource gen can sometimes be helpful. It can also help Sunfire, Nightcrawler and optic blast ability cost when needed. Helicarrier was supposedly used in this spot, but the lower cost of Enhanced Reflexes has helped me more after further testing.

  2. Honorary X-Men is useful to enable The X-Jet and Uncanny X-Men while in alter ego form.

  3. Rapid Response is a tactic therefore Tactical Brilliance can grab it from the discard pile and be reused for more ally enter the field trigger shenanigans.

Playing the deck.

  1. Always try to mulligan or look for Uncanny X-Men turn 1-3 either through natural draws or Build Support.

  2. Ruby Quartz Visor doesnt necessarily needs to be cast early on since if you pull scott's obligation Lost Visor early on, it will tutor it for you. While you cant attack under the obligation, you still can thwart.

  3. Prioritize getting the engine going Utopia + The X-Jet + Team-Building Exercise + Uncanny X-Men asap over doing dmg. Use your life as resources and if you are properly setup, the allies chumpblocking and dealing damage should be enough.

Future update consideration :

Gambit vs Blindfold

Armor vs Triage

Thank you for checking the deck out. I will make more update as I deem fit. Good luck and have fun trying the deck out !
