Catch, and destroy
Nick is old and tired, but his experience in the field has allowed him to master the art of Looking for Trouble, gather intel, and Break Cover at the right time.
It is probably wrong to call this an Overkill deck, there certainly is Overkill by way of Marked. It is more appropriately a No Quarter deck and Nick has been one of my favorites to run it. I will say I created this deck for Multiplayer so just keep that in mind. I never played this Solo, but it may be possible to alter it for Solo.
No Quarter, Yes Cards
Nick both runs No Quarter extremely well and requires a bit of a deft touch to operate well. You will be blowing past a lot of your own cards that help you gain threat so it is really important to gather a crowd of minions while in Stealth Suit form using Looking for Trouble and Get Over Here! to then gather some threat. Then you chain together a really fun turn where you could play any number of the aggression cards after No Quarter is juiced by Assault Suit/Aggressive Energy/Follow Through. I hit 10 excess damage once drawing 8 aggression cards! Couple of my favorites to draw into:
- Keep Up the Pressure (great to go get No Quarter or my fave Concentrated Fire to help flip back to Stealth
- The Bellerophon - oh yes! we can not only afford the Bellerophon it really works well in this deck, 3 charges is more than enough for a game.
Just know Get Over Here! is an Attack so it will cause you to go to Assault side of your suit. Covert Surveillance you just want to make sure you play after to get back to stealth suit. Get Over Here! if nothing else serves as great "Bring It!" fuel which then in turn can help you find a piece like Covert Surveillance or No Quarter.
Last but not least Follow Through I chose to build with over Honed Technique. There are a couple of reasons for this but the main is that it works for Spray Fire and Concentrated Fire for when you have Marked a minion. Secondly I like that the 3 cards thin the deck a little and of course are cheaper to get down.
Where is Practiced Plan? You ask. Well it is a grey card and going 35 red cards with a No Quarter deck I just like more. Also there are very slim guarantees you will draw into any of your preps, Practiced Plan included. So I just threw that plan to the wayside. This is a Nick deck that treats Eyepatch Camera (yay 3 threat to convert into damage!) and Intelligence Analysis as a nice to have, not as a pillar of the deck.
Achievement: Deal 10 damage via overkill and draw 5 cards with one No Quarter event.
I hope to see you all at Con of Heroes! I will be bringing this deck as well as some others and I can't wait!
Only bad thing about this deck is your hand cramping from holding 15 cards
