The idea behind this deck is to benefit from a chain reaction that allows you to:

  • Defend each turn with a 4 defense without exausting
  • Draw 2 cards
  • If your defense is perfect, draw a third card
  • Start your turn by drawing a fourth card

Priority #1 Play your Costume Synthétique, that's why I included a copy of Superpower Training

Priority #2 Have at least one Bracelet de Black Widow in play to pay for the Ready for a Fight restriction

Priority #3 Set Shelter #29

The combo is as follows:

You are in alter ego, you have Ready for a Fight + Practiced Plan -> The villain schemes

-> you discard Ready for a Fight -> you discard Practiced Plan -> you return Ready for a Fight to your hand -> you change to hero form

-> the villain attacks you -> you exhaust to defend -> Ready for a Fight resolution ends -> you deal one damage and can activate your Costume Synthétique to get back up.

At the end of your hero turn, you switch to your alter-ego -> exhaust Refuge #29s and play Practiced Plan -> you draw a card... and start over...

Obviously, it's even better if you can bring a minion along for the ride, and that's what the "Viens Par Là, Mon Pote !" archetype is for.

I loved the idea.... But it doesn't work like that....

Ready for a Fight stop resolving as soon as the enemy declare his attack (before you can declare your defense), Practiced Plan also resolves as soon as you discard Ready for a Fight, again, before you can declare Black Widow as a defender...

Once the enemy is attacking you, if you manage to trigger another preparation, then you could use the synth-suit to ready... But not with the Ready for a Fight combo.

I think the misunderstanding here comes from the Taunt that resolves after the attack: Since you need to complete the attack to draw the stated cards, you have to wait for the attack to resolve the entire card. Unlike Ready for a Fight that ends it's effect as soon as the attack is triggered.

Following the same idea, you could:

Trigger Ready for a Fight -> Declare BW as defender -> Use Attacrobatics -> Trigger Synth-Suit <<-- (Optional) Trigger Practiced Plan to get back one of the 2 preps you dont have on hand.

Start your turn -> ??? -> Flip to AE-> Safe House #29 to get either Ready for a Fight, Attacrobatics or Practiced Plan -> Pay for them using Black Widow's Gauntlet

It's a little longer and harder to setup, but it follows the same strategy.

I think it works.

It's the result of a very long debate we had on several Discord platforms.

bw's response is triggered when you trigger a preparation. Except that the trigger only ends when the preparation is resolved. Ready for a Fight still isn't over when you become a hero, since the villain hasn't attacked you yet. So we're still triggering the preparation...

It would have been nice, however I think these are the correct steps

1 The enemy scheme

2 Ready for a Fight (Interrupt: When an enemy would scheme, discard Ready for a Fight → change to hero form. That enemy attacks you instead.)

3 Change in hero form (and ends the effect of Ready for a Fight)

4 "Widowmaker" — Response: After you trigger the ability of a Preparation card you control, deal 1 damage to an enemy.

5 Synth-Suit (technically this is when you can use them) Hero Response: After you trigger the ability of a Preparation card you control, exhaust Synth-Suit → ready Black Widow.

in this case you can ready black widows was previously exhausted from villain card effects

6 Only now can you declare to Defend

4 and 5 can be interchanged with each other. The player chooses whether and which one to activate first or after

When you declare to defend, you will be outside the time frame (time window) to activate synth suit.

However I await further confirmation from other players
