I made this deck to have fun with Psychic Kicker and some of my underplayed Leadership allies. And boy, did this turn out good. I am actually amazed by this deck's power and consistency. It made short work of expert Magneto, expert Thanos, and many others. Plus it's just been a blast to play, there are so many fun interactions.
Highlights and explanations:
-
Psychic Kicker is good with literally any ally, but it gets crazy value out of Nick Fury. You get two activations, boosting the second one, and then he's still around to block an attack for you. Nuts!
-
While Nick is the best (as always), there are some other obviously amazing Psychic Kicker targets here. Goliath, Giant-Man, Power Man and Miles Morales can all greatly benefit from the buffed stats. Simply going Goliath + Kicker is 12 damage already.
-
Two copies of Effective Leadership for even better activations. Super fun with X-23.
-
Team Training is always good, but here it's especially powerful as it provides additional activations buffed by our events.
-
Speaking of which, one copy of Last Stand. It's surprisingly powerful here, I am always excited to draw it.
-
M is just so, so good. Aggressively statted, awesome effect, made even better by Team Training. Removing elite minions with her feels great. I absolutely love this card here.
-
With this many "enters play" effects, Rapid Response can get you a ton of value. Some of the allies here have the "after you play X from your hand" wording so it does not synergize with every single one, but you will almost always get something extra out of it. My personal favorite target is Nick (even though he leaves immediately after) but Kid Omega, M and White Queen are great targets too.
-
Cable is here for the X-Force/Psionic theme, but he's also pretty strong. Similar thing with X-23, she really loves those Psychic Kickers.
-
One notable absence is Professor X. Psylocke is just so good at thwarting and confusing herself that Professor would simply be overkill here in my opinion. Plus using Psychic Kicker on him feels kinda bad. But you can definitely slot him in against really threat-heavy scenarios like Red Skull or Mojo.
I hope you enjoy this deck if you give it a shot, it's been an absolute blast for me so far. Cheers!
