This is a callback during Excalibur run when Nightcrawler become the sole survivor of x-men. He became reckless and start facing things alone.

Stand Alone

Stand Alone is our key card. It allows us to leave The X-Jet—You can defend and ready if the villain attacks you again no Bamf! needed. Bamf! now can be used for other purpose like triggering more Taunt like effects. For full value, we have Taunt, Get Behind Me!, and even Bait and Switch. These are great call back and work surprisingly well in our deck (check next section). Remember When Revealed cancel (Get Behind Me!) also cancel surges effect in v1.8.

Retaliation against the World

We have 4! Yes 4! triggers of Retaliate: Dauntless, Kurt's Cutlasses, Ronin, & Electrostatic Armor. Now, Bait and Switch is doing 4 thwart and 4 damage for 1 cost making this old card shines its brightest. Get Behind Me! is great because we want the fade.

Weakness

Word of caution, do not use Exhaust DEF if you do not have any Taunt like cards because Stand Alone won't trigger; its better to Bamf!. Keep your HP high so you can benefit Dauntless the turn you play, Defensive Conditioning helps to shore up any stray damage.

We are not running any double resources because from my testing, they are dead cards with our low curve. Once we reach late game, we are happy 4 Effective Resource (ER) for In Harm's Way for 7-8 damage and thwart.

Selfless

This deck is build for Solo play that's why we have so many Taunt like effects for Stand Alone to get full benefit. If you are playing with more, I suggest switching those Bait and Switch or Get Behind Me! with Cuts Both Ways and Desperate Defense
