"This deck aims to draw fire for the table while spiking back damage to enemies" ~D.M. Tip
An American Airman
I think Falcon often gets a bad rap from players, often citing clunky interactions, or repetitive decision loops through ally recursion. His upgrades and identity abilities are also a bit over the place, blurring any kind of strategy you might try to focus on. But here, he Stands Alone as a Ronin who puts himself In Harm's Way.
Fly, Fight, and Win
To fly, we've got +DEF upgrades that boost us to 7. While you can push higher with cards not included, like Symbiote Suit, The Best Offense..., and Specialized Training, it's not really needed. We've got enough to maneuver free through the skies.
To fight, we've got 3 sources of ping damage while defending. Retaliate from Cuts Both Ways and Ronin, combined with Electrostatic Armor means that each defense fires backs 3 damage. With Draw Their Fire, this triggers multiple times per turn and adds up quickly. You can also supplement the damage with In Harm's Way using our high DEF stat.
To win, we need to recur Draw Their Fire as often as possible using Practiced Plan and Superpower Training. You won't be able to do this every turn, so strategically choose the best opportunities. In between these big turns, you can still basic defend one other player and then ready up with Stand Alone to protect yourself as well as use Aerial Evacuation and Up, Up, and Away.
Faithful to a Proud Heritage
While I built this deck from scratch and tested it, after searching I saw it was eerily similar to one of Jacinto's older decks, just with the newer cards. Check it out here: Jacinto's Ultimate Multiplayer Defender. I have yet to decide if this deck also needs additional HP through Endurance, but would slot it in against very high ATK villains or scenarios with unfavorable tempo problems.
A Tradition of Honor
To keep our traditions alive, we need to be able to recur Draw Their Fire and play it when its back in hand. To that end, we're packing Practiced Plan and The Power of Flight. If you draw a second Practiced Plan while one is already in play, it is worth holding onto to ensure you can extend Draw Their Fire turns.
To keep ourselves alive, Angel's Aerie is clutch to heal damage you'll be taking before you are fully upgraded or in between Draw Their Fire activations. Because of this, you can avoid the Soup Kitchen, even if you have to basic Recover from time to time.
A Legacy of Valor
This deck crushed some games against Expert Klaw and the Draw Their Fire turns were really exciting, especially when the villain attacked through encounter cards. The legacy of these big turns was a massive tempo swing in favor of the players. I'm looking forward to trying this out against other villains and scenarios.
If you're not a huge Falcon fan, maybe you should give this flyboy another chance in multiplayer!
Peace!
