MEMORANDUM

Head Office have become concerned that some people have concerns regarding the risk of drowning beneath the encounter cards, acceleration icons and other "scary" symbols found in our Pool.

As a result, they've requested the recruitment of a new Pool Safety Officer to ensure that the widest possible audience can engage with the Pool, regardless of their risk tolerance.

A multi-departmental review has been conducted to identify the key competencies needed to facilitate safe and orderly Pool engagement:

  • Marketing are concerned that the new role is insufficiently "cool" or "edgy" to appeal to key demographics, as such they require a candidate willing to Live Dangerously
  • Risk raised concerns that this exceeded the organisational risk appetite and demand a candidate capable of taking multiple actions to ensure that Mitigated Threat is brought within acceptable levels
  • Finance have flagged that Mitigated Threat will require additional resources. They've proposed supporting the candidate with resource generators (Avengers Mansion, Helicarrier & Quincarrier, but expect them to be able to generate additional resource unassisted.
  • Legal are concerned about the risk of personal injury lawsuits, given the new hire's proximity to the Pool. They propose protective gear in the form of an Armored Vest, a Symbiote Suit and would ideally like a candidate with Innate Reflexes and Defensive Conditioning
  • Given the inherent dangers of the Pool, HR have struggled to recruit a team to support the officer - all they've managed so far is recruiting Headpool to help deal with multiple minions. They require the candidate is a Ronin and happy to Stand Alone

CANDIDATES

Two candidates have been identified capable of operating with both the Pool and Protection aspects needed to Live Dangerously while also mitigating its inherent risks.

ADAM WARLOCK

Pros:

  • Can also deliver Leadership, Justice and Aggression to the role
  • Capable of identifying additional resources using his Mystic Senses
  • Has options to ready himself using his Warlock's Cape

Cons:

  • Only capable of mitigating one threat at a time
  • HR have concerns that an aggressive candidate may be a poor fit for the role

JESSICA DREW

Pros:

Cons:

RECOMMENDATION

Given the Board's concerns around the dangers of the Pool, we consider risk mitigation to be of the utmost importance. As she is better placed to mitigate the associated risks, we recommend that the Board approve the appointment of Jessica Drew to the position of Pool Safety Officer.

Note: I've been working on iterations of this for a few days and getting was ready to publish when I spotted Live Dangerously was the card of the day featuring a deck from mrorruha based around the same idea, but more focused on setting up the core combo. While I'd not seen it when creating the deck, I'm still adding it as being one it's derived from in case that leads to anyone else checking it out. They're also far more concerned with actually explaining why they've included cards, rather than justifying why it's not an Adam Warlock deck...
