Using this deck I have cleared every Villain using the +4 modular difficulty with Expert 1 and Standard 3, as currently listed on play.marvelsimulator.com +4 "Infinity Ronan" linked for reference. Ronan Defeated

Overview:

This is a deck for people that want to challenge the toughest challenges in the game and walk away with a victory. I used Standard 3 as I find it's more interesting than Standard 1, and Expert 1 is plenty challenging. Using this deck, without changing any cards between matchups I was able to defeat every villain with a +4(currently the most difficult) listed modular configuration. The goal was a deck that could clear everything without having to "meta" against anything specific. Cable is very versatile and can output damage, while also clearing schemes and can take a big hit when needed. With Gunboat Diplomacy and a decent X-Man ally he can handle very rough looking boards.

Breakdown: Innate Perception is a game changer for Cable as it allows him to clear a great many schemes on turn 1 without assistance from an event card. I personally like to start Build Support and use that to get Quincarrier. This keeps Cable in good economy for the game, although there is a chance an unlucky event card could disrupt it.

Between Call for Backup((Manifold can help grab this) and Chance Encounter, it should be no problem to get Gambit out and have him standing by, ready to use Gunboat Diplomacy to help clear threat and kill large minions. Gambit is a good choice as he can lockdown a problematic encounter card and will be 2-3 THW himself. You can try to buff up his THW but in True Solo 5 thwart is more than enough to kill most minions and clear most side schemes. White Queen and Blindfold can stand in for him in if he's slow to come out. Once Gambit is up and running, we want to be recycling Professor X as he's a great blocker and can also give us moments to recover by confusing the villain which in combination with Under Surveillance should make us very safe. But just in case we weren't safe enough, we can take advantage of the power of Gunboat Diplomacy to trigger Stealth Training and get some stuns on the villain or big minions as well.

One problem this deck has is dealing with tough status cards because there just isn't a good source of piercing so use the Psimitar or keep another ally kicking around to help knock those off before you blast off.

Specialized Training might seem like you'll want more THW but in many scenarios I found Front Line Specialist more useful as Cable won't typically defend for enough to prevent damage, you can additionally trigger it before you trigger Telekinetic Force Field to get a free card there. Getting a small 2 ATK minion on the board without patrol, guard, or some other annoying ability will actually be a very helpful source of additional card draw. With Bodyslide and Lay Low you should be able to keep your HP high enough to handle whatever the villain can throw at you in the case of an activation when you don't have an ally to block.

Keep a Predictable Ploy ready to shut down extra activations.

This does look extremely strong. I love the Predictable Ploy here, perfect for Cable! Good writeup as well. Thanks for sharing!
