I designed this deck on a whim after realizing I was playing a lot of Guardians in my Venom builds. I decided to try him going all basics and so far it was worked out very well. I practically man-handled expert Kang completely on my last playthrough.

If there was a card to drop to bring it to 40 cards, I would recommend Mockingbird. I didn't have too much trouble getting a stun with Grasping Tendrils. You could also drop Nick Fury instead, but I find him too useful in a basics only deck.

I have two Pulse Grenades more to help mitigate a bad setup from tearing through your deck. You can still get use out of them and don't require the Side Holster which is not in this deck.

I ran all the Guardians. Team-Building Exercise is critical for getting them down cheaper. Helicarrier is to help with other cards not sharing the Guardian trait. Avengers Mansion is always good and easier to get down with all the resource cards in the deck. In Kang scenario, Avengers Mansion protects the Multi-Gun from Time-Travel Hijinks.

Hit and Run is versatile and easier to get into play with Venom's resource ability as well.

C.I.T.T is a nerfed Run and Gun or ready a more useful ally like Rocket Raccoon to punch another minion in play or thwart for two.

Once you get almost all the upgrades and supports down, this deck really hums along. It's not too hard getting Guardian allies in play and still playing a hero card, because of TBE, Helicarrier, and Knowhere. During hero mode, you'll be drawing almost three more cards between AM, Knowhere, and Spider-Sense or AM, Knowhere and Project Rebirth 2.0 in Alter-Ego. That helps keeps your hand from stalling out and usually gets you a venom card you can play.
