Ant-Man - Vigster Cardomatic Universe (VCU)

Note: I build all of my heroes so my decks are optimized only in the sense of the collection - hence the VCU tag. Welcome to the Vigster Cardomatic Universe!

Ant-Man's primary purpose - being built on aggression, is to stomp and change forms often to gain his thwart and damage powers. While there is a minion focus - it is not necessarily Thor-like in approach - Ant-Man does not go and seek minions, he just happily buries them when they come around.

The main focus of the deck is to buff his attack:

• Skilled Strike gets him a temporary +2 ATK
• Hand Cannon gets him +2 ATK per charge counter and he can have up to 2 guns in play - so can go to +4 for an attack (and overkill)
• Brute Force adds another +1 ATK and gains piercing
• Combat Training is a +1 ATK buff to the base score

So - when timed correctly - Ant-Man can switch to Giant form, deal one damage, then attack for 3 + up to 8 for a total of 12 damage. Then he can play his attack cards!

Fighting Minions has a 1-2 punch of Relentless Assault and Moment of Triumph. If the sequence works then there is healing to be had (and Moment of Triumph is also great with the above basic attack card stacking).

On his own - Ant-Man can leverage one of Surprise Attack, Uppercut, Clobber or Drop Kick. Surprise Attack would be great in multiples - but that card is needed with other heroes so until I get more of those - Ant-Man will use breadth of styles. I could easily see 2 more copies in the hand, replacing Uppercut and maybe Drop-Kick (though I like the stun option).

Finally - Ant-Man has friends beyond Nadia. He'll call on Sentry, Hulk and Hercules (all with 3 ATK) and thinking that they might slack off - he can also put them through Boot Camp just to make sure that they are ready (and get that +1 bonus). With the bonus, and if Hulk gets lucky on the draw (only draws physical resources) - this trio could deliver 66 damage....
