Hi welcome to the twelfth in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.
My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.
Spectrum is up against a ton of Sentinels in this race to who can destroy who first. I played one game on Standard and two on Expert and won all three matchups. The goal with this deck is to mimic the Sentinels trying to spit out as many allies as possible and using them repeatedly to quickly pummel the villain faster than he can raise his own army.
To this end we want to really focus on the side schemes using Photon form and a THW to remove the necessary 4 threat from a side scheme or Photon Speed which also removes 4 threat. We can then stack up on Xmen allies and use Get Ready and Last Stand to get the most out of them without using them as chump blockers.
Avengers Mansion, Quincarrier, Team-Building Exercise and Energy Duplication can potentially get our allies out faster. Sneak Attack also pairs well with Last Stand as well as the various enters play effects that our allies have. Air Supremacy and Gamma Blast are our other ways of swiftly downing the villain. On defense we will want to defense with Spectrum unless we're low on health and Pulsar Shield will really help out here.
I had a lot of fun mimicking the villain with this challenge. You may want to do a bit of math with this one since its often better to just go for the villain as quick as you can and sometimes you can ignore the minions all together.
