I started with esquiloclasta's deck and tuned it for this scenario:

Mysterio + Symbiotic Strength + Personal Nightmare

  • Difficulty: Expert
  • Hero:
    • Champions: Ironheart
    • Guardians: Venom
    • Web-Warriors: Spider-Ham
    • X-Men: Rogue
  • Aspect: Aggression, Justice, Leadership, Protection, or All Basic
  • Deck-Building Constraints: No cards with "Avenger" trait. No cards with or requiring your faction trait. At least 3 cards with one of the other factions traits.  Notes:
  • This published version has two copies of The Power in All of Us, which I would recommend if only to hep you get Peter Parker Spidey out
  • Speaking of, getting the Peter Parker Spider-Man ally out is extremely valuable since with Touched on him you have access to 6 damage or threat removal (or 8 threat removal if you have your cool Rogue's Jacket on) which really helps you deal with those Doppelgängers or annoying side schemes
  • Weakness from Within is a huge pain when it comes out as an encounter card, but One Way or Another allows you to dump your hand, pull it out of the deck for minimal additional threat and deal with it on your terms. Bonus points if you have Skilled Investigator out.
  • Global Logistics is almost never the wrong choice. Combined with status effects from Mockingbird, Southern Cross and Goin' Rogue, you can almost eliminate the chance that any illusions end up in your deck via having been boost cards.
  • Wow, Energy Transfer is an efficient card. And it lets you get around the Induced Panic obligation, which you will inevitably find attached to you at some point
  • Field Agent is included to give you another persistent SHIELD card and a persistent Justice card to help you fish out Global Logistics with Superpower Adaptation. In the end it's a bit of a take it or leave it choice to include this card.

Games

  • I played my games on OCTGN and after finishing all three realized that I had two copies of Symbiotic Strength (which was great for One Way or Another, but bad for Evil Doppelgänger.
  • Between Global Logistics and status effects I managed to keep my player deck not too scary, but did end up in two of the games have villain phases with five encounter cards when I finally got to the bottom of my player deck and all the encounter cards (mostly Deja Vu) popped out.
