LOTRLCGSolo · 9
Star-Lord is an amazingly strong hero for true solo play. The goal of the deck is to get set up in the first stage of the villain in order to OTK the second stage. The deck has defeated the following scenarios in true solo:
- Magneto III on Expert
- Venom Goblin on Expert
- Ronan the Accuser on Expert
- Rhino on Heroic 1
- Absorbing Man on Heroic 1
- Crossbones on Heroic 1
- Taskmaster on Heroic 1
- Brotherhood of Badoon on Heroic 1
- Mysterio on Heroic 1.

Strategy: Using our cycle cards like Ironheart, Kaluu, Maria Hill, Nick Fury, White Tiger, Assess the Situation, Gamora, and Strength In Numbers we grind down the first stage of the boss and setup to OTK the second stage. Regroup is a huge help with that allowing us multiple plays of our cycle cards as well as extra cards/resources which increases the likelihood of a double sliding shot round. Captain Marvel/Rapid Response is a very efficient source of damage and occassionally a stun though we can't really rely on the stun. The other good target for Rapid Response is Nick Fury. Even though Nick Fury leaves at the end of the round we can still use Rapid Response to draw 3 cards. Beast is a decent target for Rapid Response but Captain Marvel or Nick Fury are the best options. Gutsy Move, Jet Boots, and Leader of the Guardians almost never get played and are mostly thrown away to pay for other things. Before Star-Lord's Helmet is out I will only use Star-Lord's hero power for Nick Fury, White Tiger, or Element Gun on turn 1(sometimes but not always). After Star-Lord's Helmet is out I will use his hero power liberally. Assess the Situation is a great card to help setup an OTK turn.
Why Not Knowhere? To be honest I forgot about Knowhere when building this deck and didn't remember it until after I had already beaten Ronan the Accuser. At that point why fix what isn't broken? Knowhere is a good card, if you want to include it I would swap out a Strength In Numbers
Mulligan Strategy:
Keep: Any Ally/Welcome Aboard/Any Resource Card/1 copy of Regroup/Star-Lord's Helmet(PRIORITY CARD)
Discard: Assess The Situation/Daring Escape/Gutsy Move/Sliding Shot/Strength in Numbers/Bad Boy/Element Gun/Jet Boots/ Leader of the Guardians/Rapid Response.
