While the Protection aspect underwhelmed out of the core set, new cards from Ms. Marvel's expansion add some strong options, in particular for She-Hulk.
Enduranceis the key to having a shot at achieving that juicy 15 damage play of Gamma Slam at least once in your game, while copies of Energy Barrier turn the death-by-a-thousand-cuts Focused Rage draws against the enemy. Counter-Punch gives you the breathing room to more confidently defend against an attack without feeling like you've wasted She-Hulk's 3-attack value, and who doesn't love to Indomitable out of exhaustion?
We try to keep card costs across this deck low, since She Hulk's four-card hand limit is brutal before you can get at least one Avengers Mansion or Focused Rage on the table, so for optional allies we keep it down to just the core set dynamic duo.
In re-reviewing this deck on paper, I'd consider adding a copy of Black Widow to have a hedge-bet on the table against the worst of a scenario's encounter cards, though solo play tests against Klaw and Green Goblin (Risky Business) didn't reveal a dire need for it.
