This deck centers around the strategy of using "Come Get Me, Bub!" and Face the Past to pull in minions, defend the villain attack, then ready up and kill the minion with Ghost Kick, Web Binding, or Powerful Punch. This combination can then proc a series of effects off of Change of Fortune, Hard to Ignore, Unflappable, and Web-Bracelet to remove threat and draw a ton of cards.

Defiance is present to help with turns when you don't have Tough or for villains with Piercing. Jocasta can be used to pull Powerful Punch or Defiance based on need.

Miles Morales and Professor X are in the deck for their status effects.

Several Web-Warriors for proc'ing Web of Life and Destiny and drawing you more cards. Allies here are generally used for thwarting since Gwen can sometimes struggle with it. Peter is present to help ready Gwen as involuntary exhausts particularly hurt her and Across the Spider-Verse help to get him on the table.

Once the Silk Hero Pack drops, there are several options in there that look attractive to sub into this deck, including Madame Web for encounter deck control and thwarting and the new Scarlet Spider/Ben Reilly for helping to ensure easier procs on Gwen's defensive upgrades as well as the ability to help keep Peter on the table longer for yet more readies.

I have played this deck true solo through Expert Agents of SHIELD, and it generally felt pretty strong in most scenarios. It definitely had to be played a bit differently during Thunderbolts since there was only one minion in the entire deck to draw, so value from Come Get Me, Bub and Change of Fortune was super-limited, even if we got a little more value than normal from Web Binding. Those fights aside, it felt great against Black Widow, MODOC, and the final boss. Batroc was fine as well, but required a super-measured approach.

This is a cool deck! I think Gwen works great with this kind of build.

Thanks, @Daring Lime. I've been piloting this through AoS in true solo expert, and it's been pretty solid so far.

It is absurd what this deck does on the villain phase once setup, which is pretty easy to do given that only one of the setup cards is two-cost and the rest are all one. Once you have the full kit down, defending against the villain and killing a minion removes two threat and draws usually draws you four cards. I've just finished my expert run of AoS with this deck and it's been a joy to play.

While this deck has some weaknesses against Thunderbolts since I'm not able to smash minions in quantity, Web Binding actually ended up being more useful than usual since the Thunderbolts are all minions.

It's solid in solo and I can't imagine it not being even better in multiplayer where minions are more plentiful. This is likely a deck I'm bringing to Con of Heroes, likely swapping out Prof X for Spider-UK and Hobie for the new Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider.
