Spaceman - Con of Heroes 2025

This is part of my Con of Heroes 2025 collection of decks, where I am publishing the decks that I brought along to the Con of Heroes. This deck is pretty straightforward, and leverages some of the fun Guardian stuff for the table. Ideally this is played with other Guardians and Avengers (heroes or allies) at the table, but can be played without that, it just may lose a little consistency.

It started with a low light

Next thing I knew they ripped me from my bed

And then they took my bloodtype

It left a strange impression my head

Stand Together is a tough card to play. It is expensive, requires Guardian and Avenger characters, and has to prevent/deal back enough damage to make the trouble worth it. Venom can generate a resource to help pay for it, which can help; he also has access to Guardian allies to help exhaust if needed.

Shake it Off and Groot combine really well together, potentially keeping Groot out forever! Hangar Bay can give him more defenses when you need it, and with the tough card from Shake it Off he can usually heal up to full. With other Guardians at the table, Shake it Off can also help the table.

You know that I was hoping

That I could leave this star-crossed world behind

And then they cut me open

I guess I changed my mind

Jocasta helps fish out your signature defense event, Grasping Tendrils, which is quite excellent. She will also hold it until you need it. Sadly, Stand Together does not have the Defense trait.

What Doesn't Kill Me is an amazing card for Venom, and paying for it with your hero ability ensures it is always ready to use! Gamora and Brother Voodoo will also help to get events back in your hand. Blade and Victor Mancha are here to power Stand Together, but can also defend in a pinch.
