Finally, an answer to that age-old question: “How is Peter Parker going to pay his rent?” Gambling, of course.
Playing Spider-Man is already a gamble. Every time Spider-Sense goes off, if you’re like me, you’re praying for a Backflip. Unless you’re running a only deck, you’re gambling every time Black Cat enters play. Hence the premise: how do I gamble more with Spider-Man?
The answer is my favorite pair of Justice cards: One Way or Another and Infiltration. OWOA Has two gambles built in (if you’re not counting cards): is there a good side scheme in the encounter deck, and will I draw something useful with my three new cards? Combo this with Infiltration to clear that side scheme at the low, low price of a (possible) minion. Then, hit that minion with a Spider-Tracerbefore defeating it for three more threat off another scheme!
This deck is hurting for damage, you’re really dependent on Swinging Web Kickand your allies for damage. Maybe we need to gamble more. Enter everyone’s favorite scoundrel, Grant Ward. Grant’s here to help clear problems, but he might just cause as many as he solves. Ingenuity can pay him off if the deck doesn’t go your way.
Yellow Jacket is also here to gamble, he can grab Spider-Tracers, side scheme upgrades, or even Webbed Up if necessary.
This deck has been tested through the Core Box and the Resistance scenarios of Civil War (all on Standard). Klaw and Ultron both beat this deck silly multiple times before I got a win, and I’m still working to beat Cap.
