Don’t let the title fool you, you’re actually not going to do a lot of defending.
Gamora’s thing is you can include 6 Attack/Thwart events from any aspect in your deck, so why limit yourself to Aggression or Justice?
Usually Protection builds like to have characters with high Def for defending, but with this build your focus is on damage mitigation.
This is achieved through the use of various protection cards that don’t require you to defend. Defensive Stance can prevent up to 3 damage and sits in play until you’re ready to use it. Energy Barrier prevents 1 damage and gives it to an enemy. Also stays in lay until you use it. Lastly Multiple Man is the king of Ally blocks, allowing you to spam all 3 out at once. Use these in conjunction with conjunction of the healing from Momentum Shift and you’ve got a pretty hardy hero. What, Momentum Shift also works with Precision? Nice.
And if you need a turn off? Stun them up with Tackle.
So this has already added 6 more attacks, so why not have Skilled Tactician slot in Thwart Events. I picked the cheap ones, Clear the Area and Multitasking. This allows you to get them out more consistently triggering Finesse and powering up Decisive Blow.
Rounding this out is The Night Nurse, who is going to help you get rid of your Stuns and Confuses.
You can use your basic action as needs arise. THW when the scheme gets out of control, ATK to drop Toughness for higher damage Events, or even defending if that’s your thing. I’d prefer to keep my Hero ready for my turn.
Lastly you have the Basic double resources to help you pay for the more expensive cards.
Early on you want to focus on getting setup. Keen Instincts is a definite priority to help you pay for your events. While Conditioning Room is definitely a nice card, you may want to defer it to damage reduction cards because you can stay in Hero mode longer. This allows you to focus on dishing out big damage and less on thwarting.
