This is how you'll feel after using Stand Together on Ronan the Accuser!
Intro:
This is a revenge deck. Plain and simple. How many times has Ronan the Accuser hit you for over 10 with overkill and piercing because he got two boost cards, Fanaticism, Universal Weapon and hits for 4 without bonuses? How many times has Thanos hit you for over 10 with overkill and piercing because he added the 4 boost bonus from an Infinity stone card? It's time to throw those attacks right back in their dumb faces with Stand Together. To do so, we'll need some setup, and to liberally use Star-Lord's What Could go Wrong? ability.
Setup:
-
We'll want to put Blade and Starhawk out on the board. Let Blade use resources to thwart or attack depending on the situation. Use the Starhawk trick to use him twice and bring him back to your hand every round.
-
Avengers Mansion, Helicarrier and Knowhere give us the card/resource draw we need to make Stand Together happen.
-
Multiple Man can used at the beginning of the game or in place of Starhawk. Each one gives you another round where a Guardian ally is on the board. They can each thwart for 2 if you have Leader of the Guardians out. Brother Voodoo can used in place of Blade, and can pull Stand Together if needed.
Making Them Punch Themselves in the Face:
Here's the scenario you can use Stand Together most effectively:
-
The Villain is going hit for a ton. Since the card is a Hero Interrupt, and is a When a friendly character would take damage card, you can wait until the attack happens to use the card.
-
You'll have Avengers Mansion, Helicarrier and Star-Lord's Helmet out. So, Stand Together should cost three, and you should 4 cards left out of 7 total. With Blade and any other ally out, you shouldn't need to exhaust Star-Lord
-
This is the last attack the villain can make or you have another ally that can defend. What you don't want to do is use Stand Together and block a huge attack only to have Ronan the Accuser hit you after.
-
You haven't used What Could Go Wrong? this round. This will be easy to do if you hold off using it every time you get Stand Together in your hand.
-
You can use Star-Lord and an Avenger ally to use Stand Together, but keep in mind, they'll both be exhausted, and if you don't have another ally out, you may be vulnerable to another attack.
Conclusion:
This deck is a lot of fun. It's a cool way to make Protection have really big turns, and a great way to get revenge. Hope you enjoy it!
