“Better watch out”

4985511-war%20machine%20anad.jpg

War Machine is a powerhouse in the damage department once he gets going and a top tier minion clearer. However, on release he felt pretty much locked him into Justice for solo, but after the X-Men release, he can go full aggro. This deck is a damage for days build that can OTK villains in solo and scales well into the higher player counts.

“Set the demons free and watch ‘em fly”

Precision Strike and One by One kickers are all but guaranteed with War Machine’s kit with a minion out. It’s even easier with a Honed Technique down.

“Take the reigns of power and seize them”

Agent 13 effectively doubles your ammo counters from the bunker, or lets you add counters, flip up, and then give you that ammo if you are trying to just close it out. She also makes Helicarrier make everything so cheap.

“Draw the power lines”

Gauntlet Gun is a great target for Fusillade if you don’t have a War Machine Event to play. Otherwise you should play it as the last part of Shoulder Cannon, as you can’t make it go brr after exhausting that way. Unloading your base ammo counters with Fusillade gives you an easy 10 damage turn on its own for 3er. With Honed Technique it’s close to Full Auto by itself, but could be better depending on where you’re at in setting up and your ammo. Of course best case is just do both for a cool 16 (1 from Shoulder + Fusillade with Honed + Full Auto).

“Armageddon’s just a matter of time”

War Machine’s game plan of gearing up towards a massive turn is still here, but with the shear amount of damage it’s more like multiple big damage turns culminating in a devastating assault.

“Your freedom’s just a state of mind”

The two Psionic X-Men ensure safe swaps down, and even against stalwart villains they offer decent thwart.

“Let the Arrows Fly”

This deck also does great with Hawkeye, although Battle Fury may be something to consider swapping in to ready Clint and give him more shots. Agent 13 isn’t as good for him so Nick Fury could be an option.

“Tear down the voice of reason”

Deck pros:

  • That’s a lot daaamage
  • Multiple avenues for said damage makes piloting it very straightforward.
  • Very easy to OTK in solo and even easier to manage minions while chipping away at the villain at higher player counts.
  • did I mention the damage?

Cons:

  • threat, like most agg decks, is a big issue. Less of an issue in MP, but Looking for Trouble may need to be included if you find yourself losing to threat in solo. In threat heavy scenarios it is tough to find time to put down Honed Technique so you may want to swap it out.
  • with any WM deck, having your upgrades at the bottom of the deck feels really rough. Tony does what he can, but in my experience Two Against the World only shows up when Tony is off the board
