Storm and her events harness the power of nature to constantly turn the board state to our favor. She's a geomancer, and this deck takes advantage of it.

Wind Rhapsody

This deck wants to play as many weather related cards as possible, even blast of wind. We have many ways to generate cards to play those resources. Use Forge or Build Support for bringing out The X-Jet or X-Mansion. These will really power your engine.

Then use Warpath so you can play weather related cards on the villain phase. This lets you clear out boost effects that added threat or brought out a minion depending on what the weather is or what you want it to be. Nothing feels nicer than starting in Thunderstorm, defend with Warpath, move to Hurricane by Weather Goddess, clearing the threat and giving retaliate 1 now.

Love Serenade

The real star of the show is Atlas Bear, who helps you get more card draw and will often draw you into great events. This deck is event driven, so she's likely to be able to draw you the card that you can use for a resource or play.

With both Warpath and Atlas Bear, heal then with First Aid to keep them in play as much as possible so you can use their abilities.

Snowman Rondo

Once Warpath is out, we want to keep defending with him, so use Subdue and Blizzard to make sure the villain can't take out Warpath. If you have minions out, use Flash Freeze on the villain attack against storm, then let Warpath defend the minion with the -3 ATK debuff (According to this ruling). This will let you resolve another event. Then, use Storm's Cape if you need to ready Storm.

Cycle Your Superpower

Use Mutant Education to help get your weather events back into the deck. This also gives you a chance to heal through Ororo's Garden and X-Mansion since you might be taking quite a bit of damage while setting up. This helps Atlas Bear still hit the right cards, especially as the deck thins. This is also helpful when it's time to play X-Gene. If you're going to flip down, make it worth it.

Summon the power of the earth and do lots of different things across both the villain and hero phase. Storm has the kit and can gain the resource generation to get a strong pace that won't relent.

Just tried this deck tonight, and those tough allies helped Storm survive a lot!!!

Thanks for trying it, @LCGFan2020! And yeah, those tough allies definitely give you space to start making it rain!

Storm is my favourite X-hero, and Protection my favourite aspect. will definitely be looking to give this a try <3

Looks awesome, I'm going to give this a shot. I see you have first aid, I have been running that card in a lot of decks lately.

@dr00 I hope it goes well. I’d love to hear feedback on the experience :)

@vintagebuyer_80 thanks so much! Let me know how it goes! And on First Aid, I’m with you on running it more; it’s a super useful card. I always regret overlooking it. In this deck, it keeps you using Atlas Bear, and she is definitely the understated star of the show. The number of times I’ve loved drawing that extra card…

Love this deck, haven't played Storm in awhile due to the xforce wave but she was one of my favorite x heroes released. Great deck to bring her back on. My first 2 games were against the hood with Lady Deathstrike and reaver modulars. Took a total of 3 damage in those games and ran right through him. Thanks for sharing this one

Probably I'm missing something, but I can't see what's the point on defending with Warpath. Why do you need to play an event in villain's turn which you cannot play on your own turn?

@wehehe totally get the question. I think that happens often with Warpath. As far as why, it helps finish anything that couldn’t get finished in the previous player phase. It’s effective when it prevents the bad thing from happening, whether it’s defeating a minion before it activates or thwarting a hazard side scheme out before dealing encounter cards. I’ve also used it to lower threat on the main scheme when both Dark Dealings are still in deck and threat is close losing.

If permanent side schemes become more common, we’ll see thwarting on the villain phase become more important for stopping bad effects on those permanent side schemes. I think of Gene Pool and Ancient Ritual where boost abilities can add threat to enhance bad effects on dealt encounter cards, this deck can help you mitigate those threats. But, I definitely agree that Warpath isn’t for every scenario, though the deck still serves me well in the times that I don’t use Warpath.

Got it! I can see the utility of Warpath in heroes with "once per phase" triggers but I didn't see it here. It has more sense now. I'm trying some builds of Storm in protection aspect and warpath is on the edge of being included in the deck or not
