Not only is Spider-woman reaching across the multiverse to party with other spider-people, now she's breaking the fourth wall and thinks everything is a joke (well it is but that's beside the point, you're not helping).
This deck is mostly centered around getting up Spider-Woman's stats high as possible with Superhuman Agility and then hitting (or thwarting) hard with Go All Out or Push Ahead.
The pool aspect is great for this as Plot Convenience is perfect for getting as many aspects as you can in a hand.
Since Spider-woman is a spider character, she can make use of Warrior of the Great Web and the great readies and card draw that web-warrior cards can offer, which helps pay for all those aspect cards.
Card Justifications and strategy
Pool
- Mulligan - free aspect card proc for pool. If your had is great, put it under Plot Convenience to save for later.
- "I Got This" - cheap event with good value. symbiote suit and headpool will give us card draw and ally readies, which are super valuable with Spider-Man.
- Headpool - here for the hazard icon to make 'I got this' and Laser Swords better and his 'mind-control' effect is funny and useful.
- Laser Swords - It's not as strong as it is in other pool decks but even then, its risky. Here it helps make other cards better and we're also not playing as fast and loose as pool normally plays. It will usually give at least +1 attack, which is still good.
- Healing Factor - Crazy good card, can't not include this in a pool deck.
- Not my Responsibility - pairs great with Web of Life and Destiny
- Stick-To-Itiveness - combo with Finesse for "I can't believe it's not quicksilver" and uses of multiple Go All Out's
- Plot Convenience - save duplicate aspect cards for future turns. Funnily enough you could also share some of your identity-specific events with other players since they count as aspect cards, not sure why you'd do that but you could.
Leadership
- Go All Out - Spider-woman can potentially make better use of this card than any other hero due to how high she can get all of her stats. With pool, just her ability can raise her up to 6/6/6, and 7/7/7 with symbiote suit. Increase it further with other cards like R&D Facility, Laser Swords, and Warrior of the Great Web we can get to 16/9/7 (that's with +4 from peak laser swords, and discarding 3 web warrior allies for +3, and both r&d facilities for +2/2/0). We could potentially get even higher by including another r&d facility, Lead from the Front, and Morale Boost but deck space is limited and it's unrealistic to have everything in a single hand and also be able to pay for it all. It does allow for deck customization though.
- Make the Call - use to pull out any of your web-warrior allies, any are good. Can also be used with Finesse as it's an aspect card which will also count towards Superhuman agility and can ignore the play restrictions if you don't have Warrior of the Great Web yet.
- R&D Facility - make 'go all out' better.
- Rapid Response - get additional use out of Ghost-Spider along with more cards out of Web of Life and Destiny. Could potentially include more for more shenanigans but not necessary.
Basic
- Symbiote Suit - adds 3 damage to Go All Out and hand size helps pay for everything else. and its "weakness" is actually a good thing for some of the pool cards we added.
- Ghost-Spider - Grab a card to round out Superhuman Agility, pay for something else, or get a Self-Propelled Glide to keep tempo.
- SP//dr - flexible ally, especially with Web of Life and Destiny.
- Spider-Man - readies are super valuable in a deck like this. 'Make the call' can bypass his resource requirements if needed.
- Quincarrier - resource generator to make paying for everything a little more possible. Also makes getting spider-man out easier.
- Web of Life and Destiny - card draw is good.
- Warrior of the Great Web - needed for the web-warrior cards and also makes Go All Out slightly better.
Alternate card choices
- Push Ahead - if thwart is needed more than damage, can put this in place of Go All Out, or swap out something else.
- Morale Boost - currently the role this card would take is being filled by R&D Facility as paying for this event on top of everything else in the ideal turn will be hard.
- Lead from the Front - same deal as morale boost, but this one also helps your allies, which may or may not be worth it. Used with Spider-Man would get another 3 damage/thwart though, which is nice.
- Command Team - really good with spider-man, but would bloat the deck.
- Domino - Combine with War and 'Pool Inspection to get another 6 damage out of Domino's ability. War is a cool card, but can only be best used with people who can manipulate the top of their deck, like Domino (The hero), Magick with Limbo or heroes that can combine leadership and pool (Spider-woman and Adam warlock). If I didn't want this deck on the slimmer side I would include this combo. (maybe I will anyway, dunno)
- Cutupper - great event, a little pricey for this deck.
- Helicarrier - Auto-include with multiplayer decks, I'm on the fence whether to use it or not to keep the deck small.
- Live Dangerously - This would make Laser Swords and "I Got This" better and would make paying for everything much easier, but this deck doesn't have great thwart potential to let a crisis icon stay out for very long, especially one that has 9 or 12 thwart in a multiplayer game. Could be included if running Push Ahead or playing with a good Shadowcat player to completely ignore the crisis.
- More web-warrior allies could be included, but it's tough with Spider-woman as she prefers aspect cards and there are no leadership web-warriors.
Great concept! Have you considered swapping quincarrier for deft-focus or maybe just adding it? Self Propelled Glide, Venom Blast, Pheremones, Contaminant Immunity, and Healing Factor are all super powers putting your targets at 10. In my experience Spider-Woman appreciates a low cost curve and any resources she can get. She wants to play as many cards as possible to get her boosts. I’m also surprised at not seeing the pool resources. Spider-Woman great at keeping her hp high thanks to Contaminant Immunity and Pheremones, Healing factor helps as well. Not my Responsibility and Plot Convenience would be cuts for me. Not my Responsibility is really only viable when you have tough since you can’t over-assign damage. If the villain would scheme for 5 you can’t choose an ally with 4 health to take it all, it doesn’t function like an attack.
