PREAMBLE
This deck focuses on explosive starts and consistent control of the battlefield. Capable of handling S3:E1 Expert Ronan true solo [currently at ~40% WR, getting better at lining up hands to one phase his p3].
Still very much a WIP. Would love feedback and card suggestions.
HOW IT WORKS
'Port Away is an absolute powerhouse, allowing us to Thwart then flip to AE -> Mutant Education -> Bamf! Tutor -> Med Lab -> X-Mansion -> Recover + Kurt's Chapel -> Flip down w/ Moira MacTaggert. 'Port Away should be priority for Mutant Education assuming there's still copies of Bamf! in the deck to tutor for.
Call for Aid turns our Digging Deep package online, filling our discard with toolbox pieces and tutoring us up Captain Marvel. At 5 cost she's normally hard to make space for, but due to how many resources we're generating - much less of a concern in this deck. Once Danvers is out, we can recycle her using Med Lab every 2 turns as a consistent source of Stuns and damage.
Suit Up and Make the Call act as redundancy, as well as getting Professor X in for consistent Confuse.
Generally you'll be chipping away at the villains health with Danvers and other allies, but you can definitely setup hands with Mutant Education to deal with a villain phase in one turn (generally how this takes out p3 Ronan).
Gambit is great for sniping problematic cards (eg. Drone Upgrades in Ultron, or Universal Weapon in Ronan), otherwise acts as a great thwarter with X-Mansion keeping him topped up.
TESTING
The Power in All of Us: plenty of targets, many of which we want out turn 1/2 before we have our draw engine online. Diluting energy resources.
Maria Hill / Ironheart: Ironheart is definitely a consideration while we try out The Power in All of Us. Maria is a great alternate target for Make the Call. Both dilute energy resources.
WHY ISN'T 'X' IN HERE?
Utopia: we don't benefit from the +1 ally limit, and don't run enough X-Men allies to consistently ready up Professor X or Kurt (w/ Honorary X-Men) for it to be worthwhile in solo.
The X-Jet: without Honorary X-Men we're generally just better running Clarity of Purpose for Hero Form resources.
Helicarrier: might be worth considering with Power in all of Us, as is not worth the slot.
Forge: Without running the above two, there's just not enough targets for him to be useful.
MULTIPLAYER
This is more suited to multiplayer, assuming you're alongside an X-Men hero https://marvelcdb.com/deck/view/827543
