I've played this deck only a few times, but have scored wins over Tower Defense [Expert], Project Wideawake [Expert], Juggernaut [Expert] and Apocalypse 2 [Expert]..!
Wrist Strength
A cheeky little deck dedicated to making the most out of Wrist Gauntlets!
Arguably one of the weakest cards in the Ant Man hero kit, Wrist Gauntlets gets a bit of love by essentially trying to maximise both physical and energy resources in this Justice deck.
With Wrist Gauntlets set up, and available necessary resources readily at hand, stunning/confusing actually comes quite easily to Ant Man - and at a lower cost compared to some other heroes!
Of course, apart from actually having to get Wrist Gauntlets in play, the cost to stun/confuse is dependent on your hero form and the available resources. The idea of this deck is to give you the flexibility to be able to pay the cost to either stun/confuse...the only choice you need to make is to decide which hero form to switch to.
Allies Give you Strength & Energy
I've intentionally avoided including Enhanced Physique and Enhanced Reflexes as they take more time to set up and take up space in the deck. Why include them when the rest of your cards can do it for you!
Apart from Nick Fury, the other allies chosen were chosen because of their associated resource type - Daredevil and Wraith for their physical resources; and Jessica Jones and Quasar for their energy resources. Like all Justice allies, they will generally assist with thwarting but they also have a bit of kick to their attack too, if needed.
Damaging Thwart
Similar to the allies, the Justice events chosen were determined from their resource type - For Justice! and Turn the Tide (energy) and Running Interference (physical).
Since Ant Man is inherently good at thwarting already, the additions of For Justice! and Running Interference almost give him too much thwart...with that in mind, Turn the Tide has been added to cash in on thwarting all threat off schemes.
Auxiliary Support
By the same token, Skilled Investigator and Under Surveillance have been included to give you that card draw from all the thwarting you do, whilst Under Surveillance gives you that wiggle room with the scheme, just in case you need it!
What I always like adding to Ant Man decks are copies of Ready to Rumble. With the multi hero form and cards like Resize, you can activate both hero forms to get maximum value from their base stats and hero responses.
Quincarrier is also a staple to give you the flexibility to pay that second physical or energy resource for the Wrist Gauntlets as well as (more obviously) give you more money to pay for your cards...like this deck, it's simple and effective!
Finally,Superpower Training has been included to ensure you either get Ant-Man's Helmet (which is a high priority in general) or your Wrist Gauntlets into play quickly (i.e if it appears to be at the bottom of your deck...otherwise you miss out on all the fun!)
Hope you enjoy this pint sized thematic deck...and let's get Ant-Man stunning and confusing!
This deck looks fun!
