The idea behind this deck is to get build Ironheart to stage 3 as quick as possible so that we can get to the real fun which is centered on Rogue.
Build the Suit
To build to stage 3 quickly, we have "Come Get Me, Bub!" to bring out minions which we then want to hit with Photon Beam getting us 2 counters. We also get 3 health and a tough from come get me which helps with survivability.
Face the Past is included also to get us card draw and provide another target for Photon Beam.
We also have 3 PSS that we preferably want to clear with Fly Over which would net us 2 progress counters as well.
For Build Support, we want to target Ronnie Williams first since she can get us 1 counter per turn in AE. Tony Stark A.I. would be the 2nd choice which lets us look at the top 2 cards of our deck, draw 1 and discard the other.
For Superpower Training, I prefer to get Propulsion Jets out first to help with threat. Photon Blasters is great also dealing damage based on our stage number. We also get 2 health for each again helping with her survivability.
To further build our counters more quickly we have included a lot of resources which in AE we can spend one to add a progress counter. Between that and Ronnie, we can add 2 counters per turn when we flip to AE.
Assess the Situation is great early game to give us larger hand sizes or we can use it for our AE ability to get us a counter.
Ingenuity has to be played in AE but then provide a resource every turn. In AE we can again use this for a counter.
That is a little bit about getting Ironheart built out but what about the actual deck?
The Combo
The idea we are shooting for here is to get Rogue out with Protective Training as well as Soaring Acrobatics with Ironheart preferably in Stage 3. Hopefully we have at least one other Champion ally out especially Brawn or Moon Girl.
We play "Go for Champions!" which says that champions do not take damage for the rest of the round. Have Rogue touch Ironheart, we do not take that damage. Rogue would now be Aerial and a Champion meaning she does not take damage for the round as well as being at 5 thwart/ 4 attack. Now that Rogue is aerial she could attack for 5 with Soaring Acrobatics, we could then use Game Time to ready her again for an attack of 4 or thwart for 5 without taking consequential. The rest of our champion allies would not take any damage either. Moon Girl would avoid the double consequential and Brawn with 1 hp would just exhaust allowing you to still get his resource.
Since we are shooting for this combo, I went ahead and did all Champion allies:
Moon Girl draws cards based on the number of resources we paid for her.
Pinpoint is great to keep out just in case Rogue gets knocked off, one of our upgrades gets caught off guard or we lose a med team.
Snowguard provides alot of flexibility and you can choose which best fits at the time based on the board state or scenario you are in.
Spider-Man provides a great when enter play ability giving +2 to one of his stats for that phase.
Rogue Survivability:
We already talked about Protective Training but we also have Med Team and Render Medical Aid to keep Rogue alive. Just because we have a later game combo, don't be afraid to play her early and still take advantage of her ability. We have plenty of ways to keep her alive.
Overall, this deck has been a ton of fun and has performed really well. I would love to hear any feedback or experiences with the deck!
Fun combo! It’s great to see Rogue getting so much love. What a great new ally.
