LACK OF SUBTLETY · 1529
I recently made a Maria Hill deck that combined Squared Off and The Raft to get minions into play, gain a benefit, and then ship them off to jail. I started looking for other ways to create the same effect. You can do it easily with Spider-Woman, but this Gamora deck is another angle on the same concept, only using Looking for Trouble and Infiltration instead.
Once The Raft is in play, cards like Relentless Assault, Decisive Blow and Rocket Raccoon will make short work of them, sending problem minions packing off to jail. Watch out for minions who have effects in their deck that "Find" them or search all in-game areas, because those effects can pull them right out of The Raft. But otherwise, they should be gone for good unless you decide to add a fifth prisoner. Some of my favorite prisoners I've captured include Madame Hydra and Dark Phoenix.
Going after minions opens up using Prism Dust to put some damage on them as they enter play, and also brings Confusion into play. So lets lean into confusion while we are here. "Think Fast!" and Eros can keep the confusion coming and Float Like a Butterfly capitalizes on them. I included 2 copies of Float to help ensure it gets into play quickly, share one with a friend in multiplayer to capitalize further. (Maybe add a 3rd copy for 3-4 player games)
While we are locking minions away from the villain, you can charm one away as well using Show of Empathy, just to rub salt in the wound.
Other than Gamora's Sword and Rocket Raccoon, every card in this deck is cost 2 or less, with 25 cards only costing 1 or less! So it speeds through cards, especially if you can get one or both of your Keen Instincts into play. They really help this deck's performance.
Cards that were tempting to include, but I did not are Sonic Rifle, which didn't make the cut because it costs 3 and I've done fine on confusion without it. Also Build Support, which would be some insurance for getting The Raft into play more quickly. An early Raft is fantastic, but it's more of a bonus than an necessity. Still, there is a case to made for both of these cards.
Like any Confusion deck, this deck will struggle against Steady villains and face serious issues with Stalwart ones. Likewise, this deck runs on minions, so if there aren't minions to hunt, best to play something else.

May 19, 2025Ever since Infiltration came out, I've been wanting to try it with Gamora. Excellent cheap card and you get extra use from playing Justice through the Raft, so this is awesome! I also love Prism Dust plus Scare Tactics as a cheap way to take out minions but also trigger Gamora's hero ability. |
Looks really fun!
