Super-Sonic S.H.I.E.L.D. Team with the British Invasion

As Maria Hill, you'll orchestrate a powerful S.H.I.E.L.D. offensive, centered around getting and keeping our star allies—Nick Fury, Captain Britain, and Agent 13—on the field. Field Agent and Med Team ensure their longevity, with Med Team also keeping Maria Hill in the fight.

The Pericles offers vital protection for both you and the main scheme. Our arsenal includes The Bellerophon and The Iliad for significant damage and thwarting, while the Sonic Rifle keeps foes confused.

Inspired by Super Spies, Sonic Rifle, and the core S.H.I.E.L.D. theme, this deck integrates the steadfast power of Captain Britain to control the battlefield.

VILLAINS TESTED AGAINST to refine the deck (in both standard and expert): Klaw (with an expert house rule(1)); Unus; En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse); and Magneto.

Deck Refinements

The deck was completely revised after a couple of plays. It originally had 48 cards with a ton of tech upgrades to use Leo Fitz as an extra resource generator. Those plays helped to inspire this rebuild be removing many of those tech upgrades and The Power of Justice cards that were in the deck. I also removed Monica Chang, as well as all 3 copies of Surveillance Team.

The above made room to include Med Team, The Pericles, and Build Support.

NOTABLE ELEMENTS OF PLAY:

  • Allies: The goal is to get 2 of 3 of the following powerful allies in play and keep them there, while Agent Coulson and Nick Fury, Sr. can be used flexibly as the need arises.

  • S.H.I.E.L.D. Supports that Keep Allies in Play: Note that the first 2 below can also be used as a "resource" for Maria Hill's hero ability, Reassignment.

  • Support & Upgrade Damage Contributors:

  • Cards that Inspired the Deck Name:

    • Super Spies
    • Sonic Rifle & Leo Fitz, as well as the S.H.I.E.L.D. allies and supports, which are notably relevant when one reads many of those supports' names.
    • Captain Britain, who consistently keeps minions and side schemes in check, but can be used to attack the villain or thwart the main scheme in a pinch.

Conclusion:

With Super-Sonic S.H.I.E.L.D. Team with the British Invasion, you're not just playing Maria Hill; you're directing a precision operation designed to control the battlefield and neutralize any threat. Deploy your elite allies, leverage S.H.I.E.L.D.'s finest tech, and let the Director lead the way to victory.

(1) Note on expert house rule for Klaw: This modification assures that expert Klaw makes for a consistently challenging villain during playtesting. After discarding cards at the beginning of the game and putting into play the first minion that is discarded from the encounter deck, if that minion is NOT a Masters of Evil minion, I search the encounter deck for a Masters of Evil minion and replace the original discarded minion with it. I then shuffle that original minion back into the deck.

I like it. I'll have to give it a whirl solo and see how it plays for real.

Thanks! The toughest challenge was definitely Expert Magneto. Unlike usual, I had to actually delay clearing his side schemes, but it's fun building out the pieces.

@SDx Thanks! I'd be curious to hear another person's approach with her. I found I adjusted my initial plays depending on the villain.
