Redwing is an unusual choice for a Sidekick deck, but there are some benefits. In this deck we don’t use Redwing’s ability except in corner cases.

With Redwing Sidekicked, you have enabled Side-by-Side. Redwing can attack or thwart, but what we prefer for him to do is get Wingman and cover for Captain Marvel, [Vivian](/card/29024, or Cannonball in rare cases when you don’t have enough Aerial cards in your hand to prevent all of Cannonball’s consequential damage. Having used Redwing as a Wingman, you have exhausted him, letting you play Side-by-Side without having taken a consequential damage.

The deck has pretty good luck in getting Captain Marvel’s effect to fire for 3 damage, and get the stun pretty often too. Falcon is good at paying for her with his Falcon's Flock. Suit Up can fetch her as well (you can grab Wingman as the attachment and use it as a resource). if you do get Redwing and, say, Hugin & Munin into play both with Wingman, you can also choose to keep Captain Marvel attacking indefinitely. That takes up all your ally slots though, so I generally did not do this.

We handle defense by either defending with Falcon or taking an attack undefended and using Vibranium Microweave to mitigate that a bit. Chump blocking is ok with Vivian and Hugin, and of course Professor X. You get some stuns as well from Captain Marvel and Talon Line.

I usually wanted Battlefield Awareness out early, and Superpower Training can help with that.

Air Supremacy is a fun card. Usually worthwhile when you have a minion out, as you’ll always have at least two Aerial characters out. Occasionally it does really great work. Against Unus this wiped two of his Infinites off the table and hit Unus as well.

There is a little anti-synergy with Soup Kitchen and Sidekick— when you use the kitchen, you will not get the Sidekick heal. But if Redwing is being a Wingman and not taking consequential damage, this is not an issue. I did find that I needed to do a basic recovery sometimes though, even when I had the kitchen on the table.

Corner cases for using Redwing’s ability include an early game situation when he does not have Sidekick and you have a resource-rich hand, or if you end up with too many resources, a copy of Suit Up, and you will be able to flip down and use it. It’s not a great play but sometimes you do draw a hand full of resources.

I am a standard, true solo player.
