MAGNETO IS A STORM MACHINE
I love playing with Magneto the most, and I like his leadership versions due to the freedom that gives him the fact that he is the unique Superhero who isn’t bound to an Ally character card. I also love X-Men so it's even more funny to play.
TO ME, MY X-MEN!
The deck is oriented to have around 2 or 3 Allies at least in play consistently. The fact that all of them have the X-Men trait is very useful to proc Uncanny X-Men and have the reduction cost every time (except the first one of course).
Then, the deck revolves around the use of "To Me, My X-Men!". All the Allies have effects that triggers when put on play so, basically, each time you play one with the event you can have the attack/thwart action of the Ally + its effect for only 1 resource as cost. At the end of the phase (after the discar/draw and ready the cards on play) you return it to the hand so you can play it from hand and, in theory, play its effect again.
For the cost of 1 resource I think that has a lot of value. You have 12 Allies in total, which is not a bad proportion to get almost secured at least 1 Ally drawn at the time you play "To Me, My X-Men!".
But that's not all. I have a pair of copies of "You Got This!" and Noble Sacrifice to have an even more increased value adding only another resource to the cost:
- With "You Got This!" you assure at least a 3 extra damage/thwart (could be 1 more depending of Magneto's Armor and Magnetic Pull discard resources).
- With Noble Sacrifice you can heal at least 2 hp with the discarded Ally. It allows you to play Clarity of Purpose without troubles and play it "for free".
In this case, you could have 2 more cards in hand an make possible to even play one of them in some circumstances (1 cost, 2 cost Magnetic with Magneto's Helmet, 2 cost Ally if Uncanny X-Men the cost reduction is available...).
1 copy of Squared Off with at least a copy of Wrapped in Metal can prove very useful to play it "for free" (you trash 3 cards and have an income of another 3 cards) and have a ready objective to later smash it with Magnetic Missile.
PLAYER SIDE SCHEMES
I choose Build Support, Superpower Training and Call for Backup to have some insurance in case really important cards like Asteroid M, The X-Jet or any of my own upgrades got in the discard pile and I couldn´t retrieve them or simply accelerate my field by getting them faster. An ally free always is good too, even more in this deck with so polivalent ones.
RESOURCES
I think that Digging Deep is a high recommended card in this deck by giving the chance to get more resources while playing Magnetic Pull. It can change drastically your options and plays.
SUPPORTS
With Utopia on play it is even more advantageous to play "To Me, My X-Men!" because you can ready Magneto or another Ally for free (without forgeting the extra Ally cap beacuse all of the are X-Men).
There are some must-have as The X-Jet (extra resource) or X-Bunker (extra card once you have at least 1 side scheme in the victry display). And a copy of Won't Stay Down could be crucial if you discarded an Ally with "You Got This!" or Noble Sacrifice or you simply want one concretely back to play it that turn.
UPGRADES
Mission Leader is really useful for all the team in multiplayer mode. If solo I would recomend to replace it with Endurance. Clarity of Purpose has already being explained, another too good card to not have in the deck.
